My friend, a western retiree, complains about the limitations of his insurance policy that he bought in his home country and wonders if he can buy a new insurance in Thailand. Is it possible for a western retiree living in Thailand to buy a health or medical insruance from a Thai insurance company?

Yes he can :) Please ask him to go to the page Here and send in his details. Thai Visa Insurance Brokers will then send back all the different options available in Thailand.

In other years,we may have very high medical expenses. If we have health insurance, we will have peace of mind in knowing that we are protected from most of these costs.

Watch out for the preexisting conditions exclusion and age restrictions that are common with Thai retirement medical plans. Read all the fine print on the policy before you sign-up.
