At least Carrick HAS performed at international level under Capello,unlike Parker.The fact that Carrick hasn't featured much at club level won't deter Capello from picking him.Capello isn't Ferguson and has his own ideas on the players he wants.I can't see Capello drawing much credence from these last two friendlies over a very successful qualification campaign.I reckon Capello will opt for these.

He's played in one of the qualifiers and was on the bench for two others but the game that stands out for me was the 2-1 'friendly'win over Germany in Berlin.He was magnificent that night.

it's never worked and they're both at their very best in the final third of the pitch anyway. lampard's better than gerrard in a deeper role as he's better at keeping it simple, gerrard's simply not a world class centre mid. he is a world class split forward / hole player though.

capello must be praying incessantly that barry gets fit. i'd have had phil neville in the squad as cover in case he doesn't make it such is england's need for a defined defensive midfielder.
