I was wondering how the tourist traffic in Phuket normally is in August/September. I know that it is the rainy season, but it is also a prime holiday season, do people go to Phuket or elsewhere in Thailand during this span? Also any early expectation about what this years tourist traffic will be like?

Also I don't know much about diving, but it is my understanding that it is either partially or greatly curtailed during the rainy season. Any information about the availability of lack of availability of 1st time diving trips in the area is appreciated.

Saying that it won't be hight season is a bit foolish in that there hasn't been a hightr season, as Paong knew it, since 9/11. I woulde give it a go as seems things are picking up since the last punch at Patong. You be Top Dog so enjoy every minute.
