Thai gov. to tax (remitted) income from abroad for tax residents starting 2024 - Part II
WHT filing is mandatory for payments >= 1,000 THB. "Payments to service providers amount to 1000 THB and payments less than 1000 THB to long-term contractors, such as telephone and internet companies, are subject to withholding tax. Exceptions include payments to non-taxpayers such as BOI companies and governmental organizations." I've been told (Thai entrepreneur) that self-employed incurring expenses requiring WHT by law has to register a legal form. Can't find any official source though. In practice and broadly, informal (undeclared) business owners hire contractors for business purposes and pay them cash. Nothing is declared hence illegal. -

Gold price
I look at the gold price and think it is priced fair. But then I look at platinum price and I think it is priced stupid. Why has there been such a disconnect between platinum and gold in the past 10 years? It makes zero sense especially since platinum has as much industrial use as gold? -

BYD Sealion 6 DM-i - is it worth buying it to replace an ICE car?
BYD have a good reputation, I doubt they got anything wrong on the car. I like that they have the most power on the electric motor. I had a PHEV Mercedes in 2018 where most of the power was on the ICE and the electric only range was about 20km. I could just about get away with a trip to a restaurant, picking up a couple of friends and the return journey, but I was frequently using the ICE. The BYD will have excellent performance on the electric motor, once the battery is exhausted, say on a long journey, your performance will drop. There is probably an option to use the petrol engine to charge the battery (there was on the Mercedes), I never did because I considered it inefficient.= to use petrol to charge the battery. So if your usage pattern is mostly journeys of under the electric only range with the occasional long distance trip, then I think it is perfect for you. And if you are anything like me, a PHEV will give you the confidence to go fully BEV next time. -

Air conditioning is effecting my sleep
The symptoms of asthma are not the same as the OP described. High humidity environments are conducive to incorporating allergens such as pollens and mold spores. Hence your asthma is worse here. The OP has also said he does not have his symptoms, sleeping with a fan only. You are welcome to Colorado. When I was there, every time I touched a door knob I was zapped by static electricity. -
