What a whopper over 80mm, this big fella devastating my lettuce tree, poo the size of a peanut.

Being so kind I put him in the garden next door.

Tried burst mode with my little LF1 to try and capture the butterflies without their wings closed, at 10fps it was immediate, 40& 60 took a little too long to write.

I think I need a lot more practice.

Good effort with the camera. The LF1 is a nice bit of kit.

Can I suggest you push your exposure, or use flash. You are getting some great shots - this one and the butterfly actually flying but the pale background makes the subject too dark. Keep these shots coming - they are interesting.

Some sort of fly?

attachicon.gifP1040411.jpg

Robber or Assassin Fly. There are thousands of different types and they live on pretty well any insect they can catch: dragonflies, spiders moths and other types of fly. Very aggressive and efficient killers. like many insects it is just as well they are not the size of a horse, otherwise I think we would be in trouble. Well spotted.
