June 20, 200520 yr hi' as some know, I always look for new tech in security and privacy ... and with the P2P thing now, might be better to be cautious and I found this : Protowall, a single service added to tcp/ip one, a service that act like a firewall for a blacklist of IP's, riaa, gov, isp's spybots ...etc find more about here :Protowall and/or download it here : Download Protowall you'll have the choice between version 1.42 qndthe latest 2.0 in beta version, take the 1.42 fully stable for install do as below : 1. unxip and install 2. go to control panel/network connections/ 3.select your connection/right click for properties 4.select protowall in the list, and uninstall it 5.select TCP/IP and click install/service and select protowall in the list. 6.reboot sometime the system says at boot that the protowal.sys is not installed and ... in this case, repeat step 3 to 6 and reboot again, there you are. you can now select it in the program menu, and setup settings as splash screen, run at boot, auto-update ... in the tray or invisible ... up to you this service runs in the background and doesn't slow down the connection, but your mind feels better ... no ISP or GOV can reach your machine francois
