I wish there was a depression over Udon, at least it would rain then rgs.

I couldn't give a flying fig they've been relegated, imo the footballers in the Premier League are all overpaid, and frequently overrated. And like Thailand in WW2 I'm no fool when it comes to choosing sides, I bet on both, or should I say 2 in this case- for Southampton is where I was born and they've had an excellent season, so I'll turn my eyes south and leave the Tigers to lick their wounds whilst sulking in the cave of The Championship, more truthfully known as Division 2.

That RW song was terrible, I didn't even know it existed.

Nerys Hughes- The Liver Birds, its gotta be said though DB may disagree- it was a crap comedy series- lame working class jokes

Last night wasn't a good night for Liverpool FC either but these boys will never let them down.

Cant stand that bloody group, they epitomised everything that went wrong with music, John bloody Lennon Working class hero my backside.

Macca, great to see him get ripped off by Jake The Peg.

Ringo Starr, what a joke.

George, alas poor ole george, made better music with the Travelling Wilburys.

Why is it every time they have one of these lets raise money for the poor people concerts, it always finishes of with The All Star Band knocking

out a version of Hey Jude?

Jeez, as if that aint enough out shuffles out old Slowhand to give us either Layla or even worse The Bloody Times They Are A Changing.

Didnt St George and company hold a concert for Bangladesh back in 1970, the times certainly havent changed.

Yoko has a lot to answer for, she screwed up what was once a decent group.

Then they went all hippy new age traveller crap in India, mind you, His Holiness St Bob probably started it all by introducing those nice young men to the evils of the killer weed.

Before BN gets on my back, LOL, I will admit to liking this song, perhaps someone could introduce the Hotel Kalifirnia bands to introduce this into their set list.

rgs, you were born too late, the chosen ones such as myself were born at the birth of rock n roll-

I remember at school in 1963 aged 8,singing this half way up a beech tree in our school grounds

And a mere 5 years later, aged 13, first year of high school, we were listening to this:

To grow up with The Beatles was a privilege, a roller coaster in musical changes and views about society, a doctorate in being alive..

Born too late, aint that a song?

Heres the birth of rawk n roll.

Heres another

From long before the time those, bakseeda, had to export it back to the country that gave it to us in the first place.

Here's a gem for rgs.

One of the world's greatest living DJs, Sir 'Whispering' Bob Harris, talking to one of the greatest rockers.

Thanks John for not mentioning Hull as one of the cities in the UK where you have to walk with your back against the wall.

Bob is/was a friend of mine a zillion years back. Fond memory........thumbsup.gif

rgs has long admired Bob's awesome knowledge of rock and his gentle yet perceptive interview style of rock's greats.

Tim Buckley performing Fred Neil's classic.

Stop BN, you are killing me here.

You sir are a cad and a bounder, here was I thinking you were just another harmless old hippy.

This isnt Marquess Of Queensbury rules, whatever happened to the old hippy mantra of peace love and understanding?

I refer to the double whammy, just dished up, but more so to the double dose of pretentiousness of two of the most up themselves I love me types in the history of music.

Any truth to the rumour the Working Class Hero batted for the other side?

Anyway as previoulsy mentioned, the chosen few, you must have been around at the time this klassic came out.

I can hear the shrieks of disbelief and utter horror from the hallowed halls of the upper sixth common room as the long haired pimple faced spotty youth grasped onto to their prog rock LPs for comfort.

Good gawd man they even made it to Glastonbury, great stuff, singalong if you remember the lyrics, cracking little number.

May I add, what you saw of Bob on screen was 100% Bob off screen....One of the nicest blokes I have ever met. Think it was last year we talked via email...Just a chat about a zillion years back.....smile.png

But that's just it, rgs, through love, peace and understanding I'm trying to strengthen your cosmic soul to overcome your Harris and Lennon phobias

Break through mean spirited attitudes inspired by envy of Sir Bob's ASMR abilities.....cast away negative thoughts to one of Liverpool's greatest sons

Let the light shine in and on, turn on, tune in drop out, relax and float downstream........... you can't deny he wrote some damn powerful numbers

The Germans came up with some good space rock in the late 60s and early 70s - reflective, as it should have been, having recently lost the second of two world wars they'd started.

Believe better men than you have tried to rescue my soul.

BN, thankfully as an atheist I have no need for any of these mantras, and I sure as heck dont believe for one nano second all human live is suffering, or some man died on a farway hill for my sins.

His Bobness, with his smug self satisfied inane grin, looking like the cat that had got the milk, he was so up himself in his love of all things Americana he never had such great Brit goups like Black Sabbath, Hawkwind or Be Bop Deluxe on his show.

Ah good ole Bob, what is there to envy, married four times now I hear, may well be headed up your way looking for another.

I hate the man more now than I did way back when, he epitomises everything that went wrong in the UK, BBC, waste of the taxpayers money, political bias, how many DJs were up for sex offences?

I refuse to believe he knew nothing.

Maybe his hippy mates can call up Sir Bob Of Geldoff and put on a hippy freak out at Wembley to raise some funds, gawd that monotone voice.

As for The Working Class hero, still waiting for an answer as to whether he batted for the other side or not.

It must have pissed him off to know he was Yokos second choice after Macca, imagine being married to that nutter, nothing to envy there.

Anyway, heres something to ponder.

No more to cry oh mortal soul

The astral path is now your fortuitous role
