Nice selections, SC,

Nothing but the Best

The great thing about posting the links and not the images is that people don't realise I have such a limited reportoire until too late.

Anyway, you can stuff your festive season, it's not long till the New Year and beyond

"Let's drink outside at lunchtime"  "Let's get the Undertones out"

There ain't no cure for the summer time blues

That's what I love about these threads.  I get turned on to great music old and recent that I've never heard of before.  My personal playlist keeps growing and growing and growing . . . :jap:

Never heard of this band but I like this tune, too.

Still putting out great music.  From 2017's release.

I don;t know what you mean "still"; they were rubbish in 1988, and its only the producers that saved them on vinyl.

I went to see them in that night club in Tollcross, and the only thing that saved them was the support band - The Shop Assistants.  Might've been 1987.

I went to see King Kurt, and they were less disappointing, but still knocked into a cocked hat by their support band, the Stingrytes.  You can figure out the links for yourself.

Anyway, getting back to the Weather Girls, that last link is surely a crime against romance and sincerity; she should get back to what she knows

If you liked that, then this might appeal

I think their whole reprtoire more or less is on there

Happy Days!

I saw these blokes in the Preservation Hall, and I've never seen anyone smoke a cigarette in one draw before or since

"limited repertoire" my arse.  LOL.  Keep posting . . .

Yup, only 369 days until the next festive season.  Can't wait.

I've got to say that he matched his voice better ten years later and several stone heavier.

Edit: to be honest, I still struggle to believe Lee Brilleaux is still dead.

I believe Wilko Johnson still survives despite his battle with cancer.

Check out the shivering shuddering, and the bulging eyeballs in this video

That's what I remember most.

Saw that they did a Boom, Boom version and since he plays great harmonica then it must be good.

Les Paul with Joe Walsh in 1990.  Love Joe's monologue about the polyester suits deciding what music people should listen to.

Great version of Sympathy For The Devil by Popa Chubby.

Billy Gibbons performing Blue Jean Blues live in 2007.

Sorry about the profusion of posts but I'm making up in advance.  Will be heavily underwater with work after today and won't get a chance to post much in the next month or two.  At least that's how it's looking now.

Skeleton and the Roundabout      Idle Race

Why have I only discovered this thread today?

OK, I am going to offer up a song that I have  listened to I don't know how many hundreds of times since I first heard it on a compilation cassette I got free with the Melody Maker's in the early 90s: Street Hassle by Lou Reed, one of the most lyrically shocking but moving songs I have ever heard.
