Cecil Barfield - My Babe [1981 cover]

Little Walter - My Babe [1955]

Cecil Barfield tried to turn it into a delta moan...that don't work...my favorite Little Walter tune from when I discovered de blues when just a youngster...there are some other covers and I tried my hand when I picked up a Hohner Marine Band late 60s with a bit of a strangled vocal...

de high school girlfriend she'd say 'you know I don't stand no cheatin'...' she was beautiful, a ringer for Olivia Hussy from Zefferelli's Romeo and Juliet, innocent and unspoiled...tutsi took care of that nonsense and soon brought her down to his level with sex, dope, cheap red wine and camel cigarettes... and our advanced placement english instructor would cover my submissions with red ink so as to say: 'you fool no one my friend...you despoil that lovely girl of her virtue and then offer this GOBBLEDYGOOK as a subterfuge...' but he was cool and passionate about literature and I respected him...an egyptian dude...

Siriporn used to do some great concerts, saw her 5 times in one week once, happy days

Yeah Pattaya had similar smaller shows like Chem Isarn, Ban taworn seetong etc,

I miss 'em, but its all gone to western now...and yes I liked some of Siriporns songs.

My wife used to sing/screech one or two of them,

Fon and Mike as well from udon, not many concerts these days, one at Victory monument on the first Sun of the month but the place is far too small. Went down to Pattaya cafes a few times, not many of them left around now anywhere, mostly beer halls and Taweng Deang places, they are better than nothing.

There are at least two places for Issan music in Pattaya.

So many good singers from Issan. Siripon is from Udon Thani province, as is Ponsak Songsaen.

Here she is singing about finding love at Hualampong railway station.

How's it going jacky?  5555

Top music, top key board,  top everything! So much great music in Thailand

One is on WS. Second bar on the right..Surprisingly good especially later on. The other, bigger, more authentic,  you can bring your own whisky and get food served at tables is on that road that connects 2nd Rd to 3rd rd. It joins second Rd past the old big c. Its opposite a big Thai club called Hollywood Behind Art in Paradise and Tiffanys Pattaya Soi Song

About 10 years ago i went to 4. One was called Dr Music on 3rd road i think. One was Thapraya near the captains table, its gone now..They were v authentic,  rough and ready,  cheap, very few farangs. Me and my girl just asked the Motosai boys. I only know of two now but ill look again soon.

Many thanks for your help, I like the 'bring  your own Sang Som and get table service'. Brilliant!

Sorry for late reply but I've been trying to get my car to start.
