Congrats, have fun and enjoy the riding...

I think the red colour is the sexy one, usually I like black the most on bikes, but that Honda Red just does it for me...

Steady on Snowflake, Honda Red does seem to float your boat!

Perhaps we should organise a CBR tour? I know the CBR club in Phuket would be keen.smile.gif

Hello All

Any news on the Mugen special edition ?

I've asked at 3 dealers now and also rang AP Honda in BKK and they all said the same thing 'Mai Mee, only for show'. I've read on quite a few sites that the Mugen will be available in Thailand only but nobody knows anything about it!

Ok, last month I bought the tri-color 150, and have loved it from the minute I drove it away from the dealer. Then today I stopped at the Honda Showroom by the airport just to see if they had any 250's. They did. 4 of them. 2-tone gray/silver in the show window, another gray/silver off to the side, the red, and then the black with silver trim. As soon as I saw that one, all the logic and rationale I used for buying the 150 went right out the window, and I mumbled to myself: "I want that bike!"

I called my wife, who was at work not far away, and told her she HAD to come see this bike. She said she would be there in about 15 minutes. As soon as she saw the black one she said; "Oh, Daddy, that's Beautiful!" She talked to the sales rep, then her cousin who works there, and next month "Daddy" will have the black/silver trim 250. List price is 109,000, but we're getting a discount (but I can't tell you how much).

As for my tricolor 150, there's a guy down the street that said if I ever want to sell it, he'll buy it. I stopped at his house on the way home and told him get his money ready. He laughed and said "No problem".

I think the one thing that surprised me about the 250 is that it is the exact same size as the 150, but naturally heavier because of larger engine, tires, etc, but other than that, no difference in size. Not sure why, but I was thinking it would be about the same size as the Ninja 250.

So, next month for my birthday......

Mine has 1400km on her and has a slightly audible rough sound kicking in at around 5000-6000rpm. Difficult to describe a sound, but sounds kind of rough, matching the speed of the revs. It's not too loud, but wasn't there the first 150km or so. Changed the oil but didn't do anything to it. Anyone else's bike still sound the same after 1400km as it did when they drove out of the dealer?

Good job on the new purchase J1V.

I went in to buy the red 150 with cash when it was released, had three in there, all booked, wouldn't take my cash. Had another dealer trying to get me one for a week. One week later the 250 was about to be released. After stalking various Honda dealers I got one of the first black and silver ones to hit a Bangkok dealer's floor. A blessing in disguise, I would be gutted now if I had gotten the 150 only to see the 250s out and about and passing me. :D

A very sexy bike. At least it will be when I paint the silver bits and rims.

You may know this ... not sure.. have you oiled and checked the chain. it could just need adjusting and/or oiling.

If it's an o-ring chain then DO NOT use wd40 or similar.. :D

use either engine oil, hydraulic oil or the best of all a low fling chain oil.

The thing of it is, NORMALLY I'm a fairly rational guy who likes to look at all the variable before making a decision on most things. Okay, I know some officers, and others, from the Marines who would totally disagree with that statement, but that's in the past. Anyway, my wife and I sat down together and factored in everything but price, a non issue, and both decided the 150 would be a good deal. After the 250's came out, I saw the red one and thought, "nice", but it didn't exactly send my heart beating any faster. But today when I walked in and saw that black & sliver, the ONLY thing I could think was: "I WANT THAT BIKE!"

When we got home my wife started laughing and told me she knew that if I saw a 250 that I REALLY liked, the 150 was gone. Yeah, she knows me pretty good. The red is nice, the 2-tone silver/gray is nice, but that black and silver is a whole different story. I'm going to get it, but have to make some financial adjustments to do so. Doesn't matter. It's mine, and that's all there is to it.

:whistling:

P.S. Don't get me wrong, I love my 150 tricolor, and have had a blast with it, but it just ain't the same, if ya know what I mean.

Congrats J1V I always had the feeling that was inevitable. The reasons for the 150 decision never was really convincing to me. I was of similar mind also but decided to wait on the 250 ABS version.

It will be very interesting to get your comparisions, which Im sure you will be posting, as I believe you will be the first to have a true experience on both models.

Take it back! Take it back! I'm really paranoid about noises on my vehicles... it does my head to hear anything that sounds bad!

I'm on 100km and no noises so far...

One tiny issue...

The people who pump the gas seem to have difficulty getting the gas in without splashing it over the tank...a bit annoying as i tend to wipe it off with my shirt! dry.gif

What are you guys running on and should one try to stick the same fuel all the time?

Also...

My back brake doesn't seemed to have bedded in at all. Still a serious lack in back break bite. Whats the deal with your bikes?huh.gif

Thanks.

Just paid a deposit this morning on a black ABS model, they said 3-6 weeks for delivery. Total price will be 120k which includes registration and basic insurance, absolute bargain!

I'll change the pipe when a decent one is available and also the tyres to Pirelli Sport Demon.

Keep us posted on the pipe...i like the low key sound but something a little more 'throaty' would be nicesmile.gif

Congrats on your order! You decided to pass on the Hornet 250? I'd be grateful if you could PM me with the contact info for the seller. Thanks!

Just throw on a loud aftermarket pipe and you won't hear anything from the engine- problem solved! ;)

K-Speed in BKK have the one in the clip below for 6,500 baht, is this throaty enough?

Against my better judgment I let a friend convince me that a muffler shop could make the standard exhaust sound better- and cheap, just a few hundred baht...

Rode it down there and let them go to work...

They called back to me and told me finished after only 4 hours, good I thought...

<deleted>-- I started it up, It sounded like a 13year old boy satisfying himself with a cheesegrinder... The F-words came out so rapidly that I was amazed myself- They promised me it would sound nicer (even the guy who did it said it was not good)...

Told them that I would not ride the bike as that and that they had to fix it ASAFP, they are now working on it...

I hate the fact that I can not blame the boys, I have to blame myself!!!

Love the bike, but hate the sound- Now I hate the sound more than it is worth- PCX from now on...

(Yes, I know I just buy one for 6500B, but I dont have that yet as I just had to buy 4 new tires for my Vigo... I have to save some up first!!!

(One unhappy camper down here in NST now!!!)

Uuugh! That sounds painful...

Doesn't changing to an aftermarket can affect the warranty for the bike?
