Former Alaska governor Palin says she will run for president in 2012 "if there is nobody else to do it"

They are heavily racist, heavily homophobic, anti-intellectual

None of these things is true of most of the tea party, but they are sworn to by the left which is why no one believes them on other issues. :whistling:

You're wrong. Most teabaggers are the usual far right suspects with the usual far right prejudices. Also, Palin is their hero and you dare assert they aren't anti-intellectual?

I'm not a Palin fan, but think that the left has much exaggerated her stupidity and loony-ess as they try to do with most conservatives.

Obama has made as many silly mistakes as Bush, but the liberal media mostly ignore them while targeting anyone on the right.

With regards the Tea Party, surely an expat who enjoys the benefits of a country with low taxation, that has a govt. which doesnt interfere in every aspect of life would be a hypocrite to belittle it.wink.gif

Tea partiers and the matching right wing of the republican party are 100% into interfering in your private life. If you are gay? they dont want that. Feel like abit of weed in your house on friday night? they will arrest you for that. Same sex marriage? Doesnt affect them, but they will stop you doing it etc etc.

I would be the last person to claim Obama is not intelligent.

I do, however, feel his intelligence and glib manner is highly overrated.

It is kind of silly for others to try to claim that Republicans are somehow against intelligence or education. Karl Rove and Newt Gingrich are as educated and intelligent as any of the Democrats and there are plenty more where they came from.

In fact, many conservatives also seem to be much more gifted when it comes to common sense than Obama, Nancy Pelosi,Harry Reid and the like. :D

You havent kept up wirth the news. Karl Rove is public enemy number 1 for the tea partiers ever since he implied that some tea party candiates are abit nutty . Goodle it. In fact if you have been to an ivy league university, or if you are a conservative intellectual- your future in the tea party/right wing republic party is limited. Dont kid your self- do you want to stand on stage in front of 2000 tea partiers and tell them you studied at Harvard? In the real world that would be a bonus, in their world it makes you suspect and un- trustworthy.

Exactomundo. This "movement" didn't happen in a vacuum. It's just the same old radical American right wing (the anti-intellectual branch) dressed up in funny new costumes. Also, they are almost all WHITE. Don't kid yourself, it is racial.

The tea party is just warmed up Reaganism. They pine for an American era and ideal that never existed. They are heavily racist, heavily homophobic, anti-intellectual (witness many of their current lineup of idiotic candidates including the witch of Delaware), Christian theocratic telling lies about the founders who were solidly anti-theocratic, xenophobic, isolationist, and last but not least followers of insane media whore, Glenn Beck. They are a great danger to America if they ever take real power. They will make gains this midterm election, but I doubt their tea party infected republican nominee in 2012 will win because he or she will just be too extremely right wing. But of course its possible.

They are also total hypocrites. They want to cut but don't agree with any ways to increase revenue such as raising the social security cap or eliminating the mortgage deduction. They don't hate government programs, they just hate poor people and minorities getting too much benefit from them.

So sayeth our own code pink representative.

Jing you have nowhere else to go. It's lib/progressive/marxist or nothing. sad.

In 2 years the Cat in the Hat could beat Obama.

If I'm code pink, what are you? Code puke?

Agree with you partly. Any gay American who votes republican or joins the teabagger brigade is like a German Jew who voted for Hitler, and surely there were a few freaks who did just that.

As far as what's going down two years from now, it mostly depends on the ECONOMY. There is an excellent chance there will be noticeable improvement compared to now, so don't get too cocky about the Cat in the Hat's chances quite yet. Many analysts feel the teabaggers have ALREADY peaked (at about only TWENTY percent of the public). If you seriously believe the political environment is going to just like it is now two years hence, you are just being silly.

BTW, I supported Hillary Clinton and still wish there was a way she could replace Obama before 2016, but I don't see any realistic scenario. She isn't damaged by Obama's economic problems as she is working on foreign policy and most Americans love the job she is doing. Hillary vs. Sarah. What a contrast! Genius vs. idiocy.

The absurd, unfounded accusations are flying left and right. Any evidence of any of this - at all?

The fact that she was able to parlay a grand into 100k on the cattle futures market in only 10 months speaks volumes about her financial acumen.

She is good at making money for herself, I'll give you that one. Quitting as Alaska governor has made her many millions. None of that makes her a good choice for president.

She is admitting that she did not go to Yale (since everyone knows it anyway), not saying that something is wrong with going there. However, she has very little support from the "right-wing" republican party anyway. Didn't you mention that before? :D

I thought we were talking about the tea party being anti-intellectual, not the R party? The tea party IS anti-intellectual. That's a fact.

This is the post we are responding to, but...

Is Ron Paul stupid? It is phony pseudo intellectuals that the tea party object to.

See my earlier post about anti-education- anti educated focus of the teapartiers.

Nope. It is basically the hired redkneck help for the Koch Brothers. Look them up. They are the most important source of funding for the Tea Party. Here's a typical event; In Texas, the Koch brothers funded a "summit" for 500 people marketed as a populist uprising against vested corporate power. It in fact served as atraining session for Tea Party activists. No one knew it was supported by the Koch brothers.

With his brother Charles, David Koch owns virtually all of Koch Industries, a conglomerate, headquartered in Wichita, Kansas, whose annual revenues are estimated to be a hundred billion dollars. The Kochs operate oil refineries in Alaska, Texas, and Minnesota, and control some four thousand miles of pipeline. Koch Industries owns Brawny paper towels, Dixie cups, Georgia-Pacific lumber, Stainmaster carpet, and Lycra, among other products. Forbes ranks it as the second-largest private company in the country, after Cargill, and its consistent profitability has made David and Charles Koch among the richest men in America. Their combined fortune of thirty-five billion dollars is exceeded only by those of Bill Gates and Warren Buffett. The University of Massachusetts at Amherst's Political Economy Research Institute named Koch Industries one of the top ten air polluters in the United States.

The Kochs are longtime libertarians who believe in drastically lower personal and corporate taxes, minimal social services for the needy, and much less oversight of industryespecially environmental regulation. (Sound familiar? It's the Tea Party Manifesto summed up).

I say the Tea Party are saps and are being used by some seriously greedy dangerous nasty people.

Jeez...what a stupid statement. "if there is nobody else to do it,". Give me a break. Plenty of qualified people to run besides her. She has a very limited background in government. Coming from Wasilla, which is about the same size as Bang Saray. And then quitting as governor. Pretty lousy CV to be president of the US. I'm no fan of Obama, but he is much better qualified to run the government. At least he has a law degree...and much of that job is dealing with laws, obviously.

I don't get her popularity. It seems to be mainly white women. Same was true with Hillary. But at least Hillary is qualified.

For sure the intelligence of the general population is not very high. But that is true worldwide. Didn't an ex-porn star get elected in Italy? And wasn't one of the former presidents of the Philippines an actor? Arisman here is helping to run (or ruin) the reds?

I remember asking a co-worker why she voted for Al Gore. Her response was "he's handsome". Ughhhh....

Me either. I do not think that she is as stupid as she is made out to be, but she is totally unqualified and I am positive that she would lose against pretty much anybody.

She may be street smart, but not book smart. I did not like the last election. It was the lesser of two evils. But the thought of Palin ending up as president if McCain passed was just too much for me...of course I am regretting that decision now!!!!!

I'm just impressed that in three pages of this topic there's not been a single flame or insult. Well done. B)

That's because we have an easy target...Maybe this attached pic is why she got elected in Alaska?

Hilary Clinton is an traitorous vile excuse for a human being, will do anything for power, is corrupt and is desperate for a war with Iran ... as stupid as Palin is at least she is human.

Besides it was Bills mates at Goldman Sachs who he put in power to deregulate the mortgage industry that has put your nation in the mess its never going to be able to get out of, with current spend spend spend policies.

She's no worse than most other politicians. And no way she wants a war with Iran. Nobody does in the US...it will only happen if Iran develops the bomb and threatens to use it. And no way she is as stupid as Palin. I'm no fan of Hillary, but she is one sharp woman. Super sharp and super aggressive.

The US will survive. Worse things have happened. The sky is not falling and it's not the end of the world. Problems for sure, but hardly a disaster story...unless you are one of those who loves to predict doom and gloom. If you are from the UK, your country is in a mess also, as is half of Europe and a good part of the middle east. But it will get sorted out. Just give it some time...
