Another Panthip?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Wife was chatting to a taxi driver in Bangkok and he mentioned there is a place not far from the airport (old one!) where there is another computer supercentre being built.

Anyone know where exactly and a name?

Just passed the junction where Phaholyothin and Vipawadee Roads merge is Zeer Street. Used to be a shopping mall but has changed over the last few years to be an IT mall.

Only things that are not prevelent are console games. PC games no problem.

I go there 3-4 times per week and never once had a tout grab me to buy porn or whatever. I'm quite able to that by myself. :o

Thanks Gazza,

By what this taxi driver said it hadn't finish being built yet but should be by the next time we are in Bangkok.

BTW those movies, last week there is this show on the airport customs here in Sydney and this dude was caught with loads of porn disks in his luggage. I was thinking at the time I wonder if he had been to Panthip and been sucked in by those touts whispering "sexy moveeee .... sexy moveeee ". :D

Cheers BaanOz

There is a new IT mall type place thats not finished yet on Chang Wattana road just off expressway.

Probably the one your talking about.

I prefer Fortune IT near the corner of Rama 9 and Ratchapesedic Rds.

Me too, ever since the subway opened up right next to it. Not as chaotic as Pantip and selection is excellent covering two large floors.

I think also the lack of falang keeps the price more sensible. I think Panthip has lived on its name for the last year or so.

The Carpark is a bit of a mess, so a good tip to take the underground train.

Yes, a building that used to be Laksi Plaza on west side of Viphabadi Rangsit Rd. just past the Chaeng Wattana Rd.

But Laksi Plaza has been there for probably 20 years on the corner of the Vipa-Rangsit and Chaengwattana intersection.

Zeer Rangsit was completed and opened sometime in the early 90's.

Laksi Plaza is definitely the place the taxi driver would have meant.

The site has been under redevelopment for the past year, should reopen some time in the next six months as a brand new IT Mall.
