Man, 55, Injured After Being Swarmed by Hornets in Ang Thong
Picture from responders A 55-year-old man narrowly escaped death after being viciously attacked by a swarm of hornets while fishing near a roadside canal in Ang Thong province. The victim, later identified as Mr. Sarayut, suffered severe reaction effects and was left unconscious before being rescued and rushed to hospital. At around 18:00 on February 25, emergency responders from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation received a distress call reporting that a man had collapsed after being repeatedly stung by hornets. The incident occurred near the entrance of Wat Ton Son Municipal School, along the Ang Thong-Sing Buri Road in Talat Luang, Mueang District. Upon arrival, rescuers found the man lying unconscious on the roadside, dressed in shirt and shorts. After reviving him, he recounted that he had been fishing in the canal when he accidentally disturbed a hornet nest hidden inside a drainage pipe. In a panic, he abandoned his fishing net and basket, fleeing more than 100 metres before collapsing and calling for help. First responders noted multiple sting wounds across his body and head, indicating a severe reaction to the venom. He was given immediate first aid before being transported to Ang Thong Hospital for urgent medical treatment. Following the incident, a rescue volunteer named Mr. Boy inspected the drainage pipe where the attack had occurred. He confirmed the presence of a large underground hornet nest inside the concrete pipe. It is believed that the vibration caused by the man’s movements triggered the aggressive response from the swarm. At the scene, the man’s abandoned fishing net and container, holding two live fish, were found near the roadside. Local authorities have been alerted to assess the safety of the area and take necessary action to remove the nest. -- 2025-02-26 -

Not normally, if you just have a bank history showing all your remittances and there's no attempt to launder or hide it then I believe you get hit with a bill including penalties. Evasion is lying on the forms for years and then getting found out. This is how it works in most of the world. Never sign your name unless you're sure - it's better to not sign anything - but there will be civil penalties - this is the difference - civil vs criminal. Now each country takes a different view and I have heard it called evasion in Thailand before but I believe they are incorrect, perhaps someone with solid 100% knowledge can confirm this. -
