Phuket plans to organize a Patong carnival to welcome tourist season in November.

The annual Patong carnival is planned to be organized during November 1st to 3rd at Patong beach to mark the beginning of the tourist season in the Andaman region. Patong municipality will spend 3 million baht on the festival while some amount is expected from the Tourism Authority of Thailand. Phuket Governor Udomsak Usawrangkura emphasized that the organizer is planning to make the festival more international hoping to help boost tourism and show off the island’s state of normalcy. Featuring at the event will be a colorful extravaganza parade, diving activities to collect garbage, and Thai traditional massage for tourists. A fashion show by airhostesses of 60 airlines flying to Phuket in their uniforms is also planned with many more festive activities. The event is expected to receive wide media coverage both domestically and internationally.
