Dm500S Kills Dhcp Preset On Router/Modem

Featured Replies

Just purchased a DM500s and plugged it into my router. All seems to be working fine for computers and devices plugged before the DM500s. The DM500s itself is working fine too but anything that gets plugged into any of the LAN's port does not get assigned an IP.However, when i go into the LAN settings on my router's config screen, all the settings are blank, as if i had never configured it at all. Wifi devices are handled by a separate router and that has no problem handing out IPs.Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Seems your routers DHCP settings got reset for some reason. I can't imagine the DM500 can have done that, probably a coincidence. I have a DM600 (which is virtually the same but prepared for dvr) and have never had any problems like that.

I've found this pretty strange as the settings consistently disappear only when the DM500s is connected to the network. I will try a different router and see what happens.

Have you configured the DM500 to acquire an address from DHCP on the router?

I know my 7020 needs to be told to use DHCP, or to use a fixed IP.

I have it set with a fixed IP to make access from my PC easier. 192.168.1.99 in my case.
