It Job Opportunities - Explaining The Basics

Recommended Posts

From many posts I have seen that IT based jobs are the best opportunity to work abroad. :D

It seems a big field because enclose many kind of jobs (web designer, data entry, programmer....)

With your help I'd like to light it with your experience (abroad or not) and knowledge.

Can we list the IT jobs from the easiest to the hardest with a little explanation of each one.

May be many users have an IT knowledge to spend abroad without knowing it. :o

exactly what do you mean

May be many users have an IT knowledge to spend abroad without knowing it.

I think people with IT skills probably know about it, its not something you pick up while on holiday like an open water diving certificate, it usually take a few years or more experience in a working environment

exactly what do you mean

I mean: try writing in few understandable words what kind of IT job you do abroad. :D

I think people with IT skills probably know about it..

Yes they probably know, but my idea is to show new job paths to newbies (which kind of real skill is useful abroad) , if it's not a secret of course. :o

May be many people (like me) don't know what kind of IT knowledge is more requested in Bangkok or in any other asian countries. May be someone simply answers to e-mail (and to forum posts :D:D ) all day long in their own language.. :D ..and they are paid for that.

I don't think writing an email or a forum reply counts as an IT skill, reminds me of CV's I used to get from applicants that include using Internet Explorer as a skill. These types of things are usually classed as computer literate, ie know how to do common tasks with a computer such as word processing, sending emails etc. For me I was a System Analysts and Project Manager. Maybe if someone had say Excel programming skills (is programming with Excel not just filling in the spreadsheets) then it would be classed as an IT skill, but these lower end jobs tend to filled by Thai's anyway.

No secrets, just think you are being a bit naive or underestimating the Thai IT workforce, some of them are pretty good, nearly all have a degree in a IT related subject

Some of IT is illegal though, so be velly velly careful.

Also, be aware that you'll only know IT if you try IT.

Good luck

Illegal?

What do you mean exactly? :D

I think you can explain more without revealing your secrets. :o

Well, there are more than a few individuals who are doing quite well spamming and running porn servers that they can't run in the west (fake rape scene, snuff, etc.) from Thailand. IT and illegal.

:D

... oh yeah, and if you're a good virus writer, you can perhaps get contract piece work for McAffee and Norton. Illegal in some cases, but in many cases just unethical. But how else are you going to get that 60 million Baht Sansiri house?
