Moving to a new place and want to get my own internet. Can I get true high speed internet by myself with a tourist visa?

Keep in mind your "own/in your own name" internet usually means a 12 month commitment/contract.

I guess I am a little surprised. Do you need to fill out an application? Pass a credit check? Have a Work Permit? What about the fixed line? Do the names have to match on the fixed line and DSL account?
