I have searched for similar posts but cannot find one directly applicable .

I have purchased a family home in England prior to applying for my wifes Settlement Visa. We have a 7 month old son together who has dual nationality.

The house has 4 bedrooms and my mother is also going to live with us for a time. She has just retired but my Father has left her for another woman after 42 years of marriage. I have discussed this and feel that benefits can be gained by all, if we live together. The house is spacious enough for us to not be 'on top' of each other and she will be company for my wife and help with my son while I am at work .

My question is , do I have to show that I do not financially support my mother. She is financially solvent and receives a company pension, etc. and will contribute towards the bills etc. She will write a letter welcoming my wife and stating any salient facts, but, will I need to show anything else ?

I have seen many posts where a couple are moving in with parents.

Really want to get everything right and get my family over as soon as possible.

Please can anyone offr any advice :o

Your circumstances are slightly different in so far as your parent is moving in with you rather than the other way around. I should mention in your covering letter that your mother lives with you, but add the fact that she is otherwise independent of the family unit. You don't have to prove your mother's ability to financially support herself.

Cheers,

Scouse.
