The island holds the distinction of being the smallest island in the world that is divided into two separate nations, St. Maarten (Dutch) and Sint Martin (French).

I'm looking for the name of the Dutch capital, Zpete

I have an mpeg of a plane landing there people scattering, so funny.

Think I could find it....... grrrrrrr.

Simpson Bay on the tiny island of St Martin

Yes, but "What's the city?"

Port de Marigot on St. Martin which is the French part of the double nationed island; the other is St. Maarten/Nethwerlands Antilles with Philipsburg as the capital city.

:D I should have know.

Scouser was first... :o

LaoPo

Yes, Phillipsburg.

We have a new player. The Scouser has honoured us with his presence! :o:D

I thought I'd let zpete do all the hard work and then Id jump in at the last minute.

Hang on whilst I dust off an old cd with some piccies on.

Scouse.

My neighbor was on this island last week. He said they walked up from the beach bar to the end of the runway and clung to the fence as they were blasted by jets taking off.

I unnastand, the pics must come from GOOGLE images.

Blimey, I have pics from 60 years ago that I took on my 1st Big OE.

Cities that have changed so much.

Rotterdam, and example, was barren waste in the 50s

OK, here's one from Google images, although I'm not as old as Lao Po, so my own photos would do just as well. :o

A famous landmark in this city. It is apparently modelled upon Versailles.

Zpete, with "whats the city" you can post any sort of picture of the city. (although anything from 60 years ago would be a bit hard to find! :o)

"Whats this Place" is where we use images from Google Earth.

I'm off to my kip in a minute, so no correct guesses by midnight, and we'll have to wait until tomorrow morn for all to be revealed.

That's a clever and good one Scouser; any clues ?

LaoPo

This city, whilst not a capital city, is the headquarters for this country's constitutional court. Its name is comprised of a male name plus the native language for peace/quiet. So, for example, Fredspeaceandquiet.

The city football team is currently (as of the time of writing) 6th in the country's top league.

You spotted the Norwegian flags, didn't you, Croc?

But it's not Oslo.

Scouse.

Spot on, Croc. By the way, never buy beer in Norway (always drink someone else's) - bloody £10 a pint.

That's what I thought when I generously offered to buy the first round and blew all my beer money in one go!
