Expat Discontent in Thailand
TH is just a location, and they'd be miserable no matter where they live. Simply because that's who they are, or they make the same bad choices over & over. Oh well ... -

What Thai cities float your boat?
Slum lord ... yes & no. I never really had a bad tenant, never skipped rent, especially since some where Govt paid. BUT, definitely not in the best neighborhoods. Cheap buy in, greater margin of 'sweat' equity (rehab) of handy man specials. Daughter house a nice town house. First tenants sucked. New tenants are great, and she & mate have high end condo, that's rented. So mortgages are getting paid, equity being built, and doesn't cost her a thing. Any net profit, goes toward additional principle payments. They don't need the income, and paying off early is way more important. -

Is Trump actually doing a better job than you expected?
Promise? Will you report only when Trumpers deflect? Will you also report when the leftists deflect? This forum allows banter and debate of both sides. You can’t have it YOUR way only . Perhaps the forum isn’t for you. -

Is Trump actually doing a better job than you expected?
This is my final post on this thread for me. It's clear this once good sight has become a propaganda ladder for Trump on here. Any posts are hijacked and wrecked by these Trump supporters, it makes little difference to them if you post against anything relating to Trump. They will destroy you personally and they will insult you and will ignore any warnings issued to abide by site rules. I don't or need to call them out we know who the main protagonist's are. If i post and they attempt to damage a thread unrelating to Trump I will not hesitate in reporting them, as far as i am concerned i do not want to see this site dimished and brought down by propagands merchants. To the few who will get upset about this thread post away.- 1

Expat Discontent in Thailand
Bless you dude. I feel the same way. Lived in two of the big three cities back in the US and don't want to go back at all. California was my last stop before I came here for good. People ask me all the time and they seem shocked when I reply that unless something tragic happens, I live here. You're right about missing culture. Thats perhaps one of the biggest things I miss. Seeing and experiencing actual art. This place is completely devoid of anything with substance although I was quite pleased to be able to take my wife to see West Side Story about a year ago at one of the theaters here. If you're fortunate enough to have the money to live life in California, it can be a pretty pleasant place but like you said, it would require being a millionaire to do that today. Had friends in Newport Beach and that was always fun. The surf competition in Huntington was always a blast. But the quality of life here far supersedes that in that it's always available, doesnt require a car (for the most part) and is within financial means especially if you have the ability to live an above average life here. Good for you dude. Hope life continues to bless you
