November 1, 200520 yr Any of you software experts help me with this it would be appreciated. I have an annoying Thai search engine that seems to of hacked into my settings somewhere which I can't shift. When I type a URL in the address bar it switches to this page: http://tns.nipa.co.th/error/dnserror.html? Then if I ignore it and re-type the page I want it then goes straight to it the second time. I have blocked it using cookies with the privacy report icon but it still has not got rid of it. I use antispyware but I am not sure how this attaches itself to my explorer to advertise itself every other time I use the address bar!!!!! Any suggestions please really annoying. Mak
November 1, 200520 yr I have come across the search engine you mention before on another PC but l can't remember where it came from, however see if this helps: In Tools/Internet Options/Advanced select "Do not search from the address bar" Another thing you could try is to add to your HOSTS file an entry blocking the url. That will only work if you're using a proxy btw. Don't forget to clean out your temp files before you restart IE.
