Mini Hi Fi Options

Featured Replies

Greetings Trend Setters

I am after a system for around the 20 000 Baht mark.

Am in Chiang Rai so I don't have a lot of options.

Went to powerbuy and listened to the Yamaha MCR

840 which was reduced from 22 000 to 18 000 Baht.

It sounded pretty good even though the guy kept on

trying to plug the 13 000 Baht subwoofer that went with it (no thanks).

Then I noticed they had a Denon M38 online. They didn't have

one in the shop so was unable to listen to it. Was wondering if

anyone has heard it or has any other options in the 20 000 price

range I should be considering.

Any advice appreciated.

Regards

Will

DenonM38 is successor of popular DenonM37,has the same speakers.it comes in two varieties - with DAB radio or without.

It has USB input, where you can connect mp3 player or ipod.It is hi-fi standard.

Yamaha840 has dedicated ipod dock, where you can stuck your ipod.it has hdmi connection.

Sound wise - both will make you perfectly happy;they are similar, competing systems.Yamaha aims at high-end hi-fi.

Both are much better investments, then any of so called - "ipod docks"(scam IMHO).

Some time ago I had older mini from Denon with hi-fi specification and may be I will buy M38 again.

Thanks for that fantuzi.

I have also added the Onkyo CS-1045

into the mix.

Will hopefully be going to pick up

either the Denon, Yamaha or Onkyo

in the next week or two.

Regards

Will
