I am planning to attend a wedding in Chiangrai Province next month, and need to know if there is any accommodation available in Amphur Thoeng. A rudimentary hotel near the bus station would be fine.

If you are not motorised, Thoeng has three hotel/bungalow/guest house you can walk to from the T-junction with the traffic lights (near the market) in the center of town. There are two possibilities by walking northwards towards Chiang Khong: after about 300 metres turn right or after about 500 meter and turn left (just before the bridge). Towards Chiang Kham, after about 300 metres, the restaurant just past the canal on the left, has rooms for rent. The prices of these places are less than 500 Baht. If you are motorized, there are more possibilities outside this very small town.

But don’t forget the small hotel at this T-junction.

A other Accommodation you find also the traffic lights to Chiang Kham. After about 150 mtr turn right into Soi 8. Follow this street – about 80 mtr - to the end.
