Her Royal Highness Princess Soamsavali presided over a reception at Laguna Phuket to announce ’Phuket is Back’ campaign

Yesterday evening Her Royal Highness Princess Soamsavali graciously presided over a ’Phuket is Back’ reception held at Dusit Laguna Resort in Phuket. Hosted by the Laguna Resort and Hotels group, the function was well attended by senior officials including the Phuket Governor, ambassadors, celebrities, travel industry executives and media. The evening marked the official launch of Laguna’s ’Phuket is Back’ campaign and celebrated the 18th anniversary of the founding of Laguna Phuket.

Reporting to Princess Soamsavali, the Laguna Resorts and Hotels Managing Director James Batt recognized the local authorities and everybody’s hard work in contributing to Phuket’s quick revival after the tsunami. Following the disaster, he said the Laguna group raised over 25 million baht fund for recovery work. Some of those involved were presented to the Princess and received symbolic ’Phuket is back’ wristbands.

After officially opening the party, a video presentation for Phuket was shown as well as a fashion show.

Supported by the Tourism Authority of Thailand and the provincial governor, the ’Phuket is Back’ campaign branding will be reinforced through a series of events including the annual Laguna Phuket Triathlon next Sunday, all with the objective of bringing positive attention to the destination.
