Thailand Needs Cricket

Recommended Posts

Often when I was younger (and occasionally to this day) I write down the scores of imaginary cricket matches

I normally create an imaginary Test match involving England and Australia around 25 years in the future

Most of the England players are my sons (the eldest always opens the batting)

I sketch out the scorecard at each interval (e.g. lunch, tea and close of play) and also at the end of an innings

England nearly always win by an innings but sometimes it is a bit closer

My sons always score most of the runs and take most of the wickets; often breaking world records as well

Does anyone else do this?

Serious question:

I understand one post is a single post, two identical posts are a double post and three identical posts are a triple post...

But what is 2,000 identical posts?

No, not yet, but with 6 grandsons, I'm sure I could arrange a team that would lick any team from England by an inning, or even more...whistling.gif

...and the spectators

Wouldn't be a game without them......Thanks spectators....wai.gif

If you want to thank them both, you'd better put a bark in for his dog.

Mind, the dog looks like its had a hair of the dog too many; he's looking a bit

"RUFF!"

Wellcome back team......hope everyone enjoyed the celebrations last night.

That coffee, laid on by the Cheer squad was most enjoyable.

Hope you enjoyed the celebrations, Harry. Every thing OK with the wife.

Thanks to David48 for his kind response. Is it now time to toss the coin?

Also to the Boss for his kind words "Well batted so far" meaning, I sure, that we still have a way to go.

And Streetcowboy, thank you for your response and also reminding us, that it's not cricket, without the support of the dogs as spectators.

And last but not least, all the other team members that have pushed the run score along. Without you we would not have achived this result.

And myself....I have been so proud to be part of this wonderfull team.

So everyone, be upstanding, charge you glass and take a bow, but mind your drinks. clap2.gifclap2.gifclap2.gif

COUGH ...

You could have changed the font ... disguised the change up ball. (not you SC ... the post above yours)

Should we all decide that this thread want's to discuss something close to Cricket again, pop your

head into the Dressing Room and tap me on the shoulder ... I'll be alseep under the table.

EDIT ... SC nice bit of cross-promotion there ... I didn't know you had added to it.

We are all becoming quite skilled aren’t we ... must have been the Cricketing thread which honed our collective skills ... whistling.gif

But one thing of caution ... I always suggest a full length delivery ... because there is nothing more frustrating then

bowling just short of a good length ... ermm.gif

We have a great sponsor already wit SoThaiSpa but of course we must seek more. Considering the way famous cricketers like to use text messaging to further their exploits and the associated media coverage this brings we possibly should approach the telecom companies to take up a position. A small discrete advertising panel could be made available on the cheer leaders clothing.

Know what you mean about the knees. Just walked 1 km to the shops and realised they aren't the same as before this cricket game.

Must ask our medicine man if he has any remedies.

I agree - we must take full advantage of all potential for commercialisation - we can then use these funds to support grass-roots cricket in Thailand

We should maybe Warne readers if we get on to that topic.

Goog point...Maybe something like this

WARNING...WARNING...This thread is now discussing the "Grass Roots" of cricket.

Maybe David48 can come up with some "visuals" to help with the warning.

Edit

Dont think, Shane would be to concerned, though.
