kimincm Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 Does anybody know the date that this festival happens this year?Seems like a great way to spend a few days out of Chiang Mai.Also is there any accommodation closer than Thoed Thai. Thanks in advance for any assistance.
Mickeem Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 Hello The festival is usually the third weekend of Nov. The sunflowers are expected to bloom mid Nov. As for the exact date I called Chiang Rai T.A.T. office and was told me they have not had confirmation of the date yet. Try calling them on 05370005122 nearer to the date of the festival. I am in touch with a friend in the village they don't know yet either. I will post if I get any news. As for accomodation there is some but very limited.. You can PM me.
sceadugenga Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 Sounds like it could be done in a day trip from Chiang Rai. http://www.tripsthailand.com/doihuamaekham.php
kimincm Posted October 20, 2012 Author Posted October 20, 2012 I spoke to John the owner of the Rim Taan GH in Thoed Thai and he believes it's on the 14/15/16/17th.
OLDAUSSIE Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 This seems like a nice time to get out of the rat race. Are Australians allowed to attend?
sceadugenga Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 Only Kooris. Still, if you look like your avatar they may let you in.
OLDAUSSIE Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 I have an OLD MATE in CR, I'm mean real OLD. Tells me I can stay his place any time. Might have to put him to the test. ^^^ going by your avatar you look like a hill bandit.
sceadugenga Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 I think he's fully booked out for the next two years and Labor voters only allowed anyway.
