Chiang Saen Highways

All the road works were driving me crazy last time I was in CS. Does anyone know the completion date as I will be back soon?

I’m not sure the concept of completion dates is well known around here. I pretty much go with the notion that things will be finished when they are finished and not a moment sooner.smile.png

Just seems so slow and being done in a random order with many miles of road at differing stages

That sounds about right. smile.png Wish I could tell you things will be different within our lifetime but I wouldn’t want to start any unfounded rumors. In time you probably won’t even notice.wink.png

It is kind of like asking why the sun comes up in the East instead of some other point on the compass. At some point you just accept that is the way things are.thumbsup.gif

Just so you won’t think me entirely unsympathetic, they have recently started some much needed road work in my area. With the recent rains it means there is no point in washing the truck for awhile.wink.png

You should try riding these roads on a motorbike :)

No thank you, I’m a fair weather rider.wink.png The Ninja doesn’t much care for the mud either. You have my sympathies if that is your only mode of transportation.

There was a travel feature on Chiang Saen on my local Thai TV channel a couple of nights ago.

It looked very nice, I had never heard of it.

How far is it roughly from either of Chiang Mai or Chiang Rai please?

Is there a bus from Chiang Mai?
