My light circuit is earthed but light switches are just isolators, me thinks, anyway the guru's will come on later I'm sure.:)

This is my understanding.

you don't need to ground the light switches, The light switch is simply a device that opens or closes one side of the circuit, disrupting the circuit and stopping the flow of electricity.

If you are using a metal light switch box. you can ground the box if you like.

UK regs require that metal back boxes be grounded so the screws cannot become live in the event of a fault.

If you have class-1 lighting fixtures (which have a ground connection) these too should be grounded, but many modern fittings are class-2 and do not require a ground connection.

In practice nobody in Thailand bothers with grounding lighting circuits, even my newly installed house has no lighting ground.

The earth terminal of all socket outlets should be earthed. The exposed conductive parts of electrical equipment should be earthed if they are installed in or could be installed in an earthed situation.

A guide for lights (in Thailand) if over 2.5metres from where a person could reasonably be expected to stand, earthing optional.

Install RCDs for additional protection.
