brianmarinus Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Hello! I'd like to start (try) a kind of youth club where young people can meet after school and weekends-maybe set up a ping pong table, pool table, and some games and maybe along the way, a computer or two. It's all controlled and monitored by volunteers from the area where we live. My question is: If I want to participate as a volunteer, do I need a work permit? If yes, there's no work and thus no papers or other things to get, to obtain one.? Someone who knows how this can be arranged-legal?
Mario2008 Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Volunteering requires a work permit, for which you must volunter through a registered charity or government agency. A local school perhaps.
brianmarinus Posted August 16, 2012 Author Posted August 16, 2012 Yes, I know that-but thought it maby was different,as this is just for those who live in this area( 2 small roads)-closed area.
Mario2008 Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 For the law it is not different. In practise nobody is going to bother and appreciate what you are doing. But still there are risk, as it is illegal which you should consider. What will happen if a child under your supervision gets an accident? Will your insurence cover things if you work illegally? Things that might never happen, but could become a reality.
brianmarinus Posted August 16, 2012 Author Posted August 16, 2012 Hi! No problen-I just found out that they actualy have such a thing at the school next to us. I diddent think they have-thats why my thoughts about it.
