Does anyone know a place where someone can flash me a dreambox?

I have only mac's at home and 90% of this usb-rs232 adapters not really working properly.

I went to fortune, but it took me an hour to find someone not scared by the fact i "just" want to use his pc with rs232 port

I think its much more efficient to simply go to someone know about dreamboxes.

The community is quite big in thailand since this boxes are beeing used to hack pay-tv.

Instructions to Flash Dreambox

Disconnect power to Dreambox

Connect Dreambox to Computer via 9 pin cable

Open program Dreamup

Check to make sure com port 1

Then click “connect”

Then connect the power to Dreambox

After message “ alive & speaking click “Flash”

Click Gemini 310 DM500

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Click OPEN ( may be in Thai letters )

Click yes (ja?)key on left to Erase while loading

WAIT WHILE LOADING

Flash OK Click OK & Exit

THEN

POWER off DREAMBOX

Remove the cable

Open the Flash Wizard Program on Computer

Click “FLASH WIZARD” Icon

Using the Remote Click Save “ green Button”

Choose English (OK)

Set Time Zone( just click save green button)

Choose “NO DISCEQ” & Exit

Click “ Menu”

GO TO SETUP in DreamBox (make sure LAN cable is connected)

In Flash Wizard select “configurations and utilities”

Copy IP# into Dreambox

In Flash Wizard click “install Firmware”

Drag and drop “install firmware into flash memory” Click file icon & select “my flash backup”

Click OK “be sure to restore backup image” click YES

Click OK & exit flash wizard

Restart Dreambox

I know how its done, but i do not have apc with a rs232 port.

And it wont work properly with a usb adpter.

Is the dreambox actually working?

Because I normally flash over network. But obviously can only be done if your dreambox boots properly.

Using either flashwizard or dcc on windows...

I can find software which allows your dreambox to be flashed from your iPhone or ipod, but not immediately anything for a regular Mac...Must exist I would think...

Is the dreambox actually working?

no it is not, the firststage got busted after false update to a 8000 firmware instead of a 800 one

the box stops at ERR01: CA Not Found.

thats fine can be fixed with dreamup easy, but requires a real serial port and a bunch of free hours (it takes forever without lan avaiable)

so i do not have both of thet, better to give it to someone not afraid of it and do it for few bucks

I flashed my DB with a usb - rs232 but it was from Win XP

Cured the Lan problem that I had.
