Played Black mountain golf course a couple of days ago, out of this world, fairways so smooth, greens like snooker table cloth and fast, everything pristine and the service was second to none!! cost was 3600 plus 300 caddy fee and then tip up to you, Standard tip is 300 bht, caddies were good but still stepped on your line which is not so good! a lot of money but course is in a different class from anything I have ever played before, played with 3 friends, one was an ex Pro before some tosser mowed him and others down in a car, nearly 50 operations later he is back to a 6 handicap!! His opinion was that the course is in the top ten of the very best courses! Loved every minute of the experience!!

Agree, no two holes the same and every shot a challenge.

Not a good course to play when you are having a bad day. I would love to play it more, but the price is a bit too steep in my books. If I was rich I would definitely join there, but that's another dream.

Cheers.

Yes the price is steep and a price I have never paid before, it must take a lot of money to maintain a course in that condition so I guess the green fee is not so bad, it's still cheaper than the courses here on Phuket!!

Black Mountain is indeed a fabulous course, the nicest I have played in Thailand, it's one of the few courses you might say is worth the high green fee. I tend to play it in the summer when it's half the price. Banyan is also very nice however the fact that you must have a cart makes it uninteresting to me.

Value for money in Hua Hin for me is Sea Pines, it's one of the closest course to town, the only one right on the ocean and it's a nice layout, a pleasant walk and in decent shape at a fair price. A steal during August and September at 800 baht a round.

What months are regarded as summer here? Half price Black mountain sounds good, I will google sea pines that sounds very good, golf here on Phuket is just so expensive, I can only play now and again!!

I played Black mountain recently, green fee was 3600bht plus 300 caddie fee, is this in fact half price?

That's the full price... They have had cheaper rates in the past starting in May until the 1st of October but every year it keeps getting higher. I used to go to Phuket and even have friends that are members but it's still too expensive even at half price. I love the layout at Loch Palm but I am not prepared to pay those kinds of prices when you can find courses that are as good for a fraction of that price.

You won't find Sea Pines on the web, the course is managed by the army so it's operated a little differently.

Just got your reply so ignore this post, cheers! Loch palm is a joke but a great layout, none of the tees were flat and the d

Service terrible!
