The Hit And Run Restaurant "review" Thread

Margerine is industrial hydrogenated oil made from the by products of the cotton flax industry. It's dyed yellow to look like butter and is very bad for health. It was peddled by lies and propaganda linked to the misunderstood Ansel keys study and the false campaign against eggs and dairy products.

New restaurant on Soi 2 Pratumnak. Opened by international chef Harley Weinstein. The Comfort. Nice staff, good food and bright and slightly excentric decor. Located at the bottom of the Clubhouse Condo. Doing a series of soft openings until it opens around the, 3rd April

just a one off question to @ jingthing :

if i try indian resturant for the first time and want to

get a good sample of what india food is like,

what should i order ?

Wow.

You might get 100 different answers to that from 100 different people that love Indian food.

Assuming you're non-veg.

Off my head, not even suggesting it's a great answer, perhaps --

Tandoori chicken

Dal tadka (spiced yellow lentils)

Naan bread

Raita (fancy yogurt)

You havevyo think about your own tastes and palate.Spicy or non spicy?.. Meat or veg?. Fish or fowl?. Or mutton?. Dry or wet sauce? Try a tandoori chicken massalla.. Or a Korma for mild rich food.Go for bread not rice.. And try a dahl.ive been eating and cooking indian food for over 50 years in a,variety of countries including india..Good luck ..enjoy.

Guys any recent reviews for “Big Kahuna”?

I looked at their FB page and there’s nothing below 5 star rating apart from a 1 star which looks like a joke from a friend.

Looks perfect for a good old pig out....

Just check the ingredient list but why disguise olive oil as butter is my first thought?

I've eaten there several times with various sandwiches and my favorite, their calzone.  It's a good place for a "good old pig out" since the portions are generous.  Some might flinch at the prices -- it's not a balloon chaser's paradise -- but I don't mind as I feel there is good quality and value for the price.

Oh, and they seem to be still adding to the menu, so be sure to read through it even if you've been there before.

I went past this place this afternoon. It was closed - probably only opens in the evening.

I can confirm it is now called 'Das Wirtshaus'.

Directions are easier from the other way. From Central Road, drive north on Soi Yume/Soi Paniad Chang, past Big C Extra on the left. Once you've passed Big C Extra, continue on Soi Yume/Soi Paniad Chang for about 200 metres more. Look out for 'Dental Loft Clinic' and 'The Legends beer bar' on the right. When you see them, turn left down the soi opposite them. You should now see 'Grace Spa' straight ahead of you. Go down the soi on the left side of Grace Spa. 'Das Wirtshaus' is two-thirds of the way down, on the left.

Just seen a post on FB from Gerhard stating that Das Wirsthaus will remain closed as he is ill.  He is unsure when it will reopen at this stage as the illness is quite serious. I wish him well.

I'm in soi bukaho right now and craving pizza but a big fat one that will serve as cold breakfast with a cold beer in the morning.. Yeah classy I know

I've tried the one at retox and was good but want to try another.

How is little Italy near the hospital? Is it still there.

I guess I'm just a wee bit tardy, but there's a new American pizza place on Soi Lengkee quite near Buakow called Pizza Boss. They sell slices for 60 baht so very user friendly to try. I liked it the two times I had it--thin crust, good toppings, good size for 60 baht.

It's almost opposite Loaf on the north side of Lenkee just up about 20 or 30 meters or so from Buakow.

Unfortunately it opens at 4pm - too late for me..

Could anybody help me out here? The restaurant is (was?) where North Pattaya starts.

There's a hotel right on the road that brings you to Sukhumvit road, or to North Pattaya, or down to the beach road, but also to the second road.

Opposite the hotel is a great shop with delicious food, but I also forgot the name.

Walk from the hotel to North Pattaya ( Naklua rd), make the first possible right turn and you'll see the restaurant after about 60 meters on the right-hand side.

I wasn't there for some years, but it was always full and their food was great.

I think it was an Austrian who had the restaurant.
