I guess I'm just a wee bit tardy, but there's a new American pizza place on Soi Lengkee quite near Buakow called Pizza Boss. They sell slices for 60 baht so very user friendly to try. I liked it the two times I had it--thin crust, good toppings, good size for 60 baht.

It's almost opposite Loaf on the north side of Lenkee just up about 20 or 30 meters or so from Buakow.

We've discussed Pizza Boss either in this thread of the Best Pizza thread.  Way better than Bronx Pizza down Soi Lengkee.  Unfortunately, I have been by many times when they have a very limited selection of pizzas or none left at all. If you aren't particular on your toppings it's a fantastic large slice of pizza for 60 baht.  Alternatively, if you order an entire pizza they will make it for you.

No it's not Harvey Weinstein nor is it Barry Cohnstein but just to be on the safe side you might choose to avoid the green leaves with hot fresh white dressing.

No idea what you are talking about. He's a Michelin star chef most recently in Hong Kong.

Just seen a post on FB from Gerhard stating that Das Wirsthaus will remain closed as he is ill.  He is unsure when it will reopen at this stage as the illness is quite serious. I wish him well.

I am now reading that Gerhard has passed away.

I had the Sicilian square slice at Pizza Boss on Soi Lengkee and it was delicious.

Most of the times Sicilian pies aren't available as slices, only whole pizzas. I'm very happy though with their big NYC style slice as a back up alternative.

It sounds like the owner has a partner/financier back home that keeps pushing him to start a new project back in the USA. I guess I'll be back to eating sh!t pizza again.

mini hit-

Cha Cha Cha hotel and "Bistro"

2nd road, old Boat Bakery location

is now open.

I assumed because it was called bistro that it would be some kind of Euro food restaurant.

Nope.

It's Thai food low/moderate prices.

The standards plus some more special items like whole fish.

Nothing too exciting.

It seems a pleasant space and their in a soft opening phase, so some specials for their Thai food, dishes at 79 baht I think.

mini hit-

Hawker Chan

Chinese BBQ restaurant

Front of Royal Garden Mall

The 10 percent off coupons still honored can be picked up in a cabinet as you enter on the left hand side. They won't tell you about it otherwise, so I'm telling you.

AREPAZO BROS

Venezuelan Arepas Restaurant

Tappraya Road, Jomtien

I was sure I posted about this before when I saw the sign but can't find it now.

Anyway recently the sign said OPEN SOON!

Surprise surprise, the brand is out of LONDON. Camden Market and I think food trucks.

Cool, huh?

Pattaya is really happening, innit?

It's near Simon's Fish and Chips on Tappraya Jomtien.

If you notice it open, please post about it.

That's terrible news ! How old was he? Anyone know what happened ?  I mean he had big plans for the new restaurant. . R.I.P.

At the last evening when Das Wirtshaus was opened, I had dinner there.

I talked to Gerhard shortly about his future plans and what will be the special of the day the next day.

He replied that they would have closed that day. He got his liver function reading and the values were very bad. That's why he intended to go to the hospital the next day. I still wished him good luck, but it was the last time I saw him. R.I.P.

Akvavit Jomtien

Swedish Restaurant

Jomtien Beach Road at Soi 3

Weekend Swedish/"International" buffet

12 - 4, Saturdays and Sundays

299 (not including drink but no plus plus)

http://akvavitjomtien.com/latest-news/118-weekend-lunch-buffet-299-baht.html

I finally got around to trying this long standing buffet.

It was largely as I expected, though I was hoping for some kind of fish and there was none.

I reckon it's pretty similar every time based on the website pictures.

The one "Thai" dish was chicken penang and the world was represented by BBQ ribs with a sweetish (as opposed to Swedish) sauce and that old standby not actually found in Mexico -- Mexican chicken (usually called Maxican in Thailand which I do find charming).

You can be sure there will be Swedish meatballs and boiled eggs Skagen! :stoner:

Overall, happy to have experienced it the one time. It was enjoyable in a low key don't get too excited way. I don't think the offer is either great value or a ripoff.

The crowd was sparse though I reckon it's more packed in higher season.

Meeting Point Darkside

A German restaurant with a friendly staff and an owner with good prices on their food.  I had the Schnitzel with gravy and mushrooms, my friend had the Currywurst (small size), both priced about 149 baht apiece, not bad imho.  Very tasty, well presented and fairly priced.  The Schnitzel was very tender and very delicious as was the sausage, definitely authentic German food.

I got the fried potatoes as french fries can be obtained about anywhere, and the other dish had potato salad.  The potato salad was outstanding and memorable.  It had a cream sauce which I couldn't id but it was excellent, not the usual mustard additive that usually is added to potato salad.  The fried potatoes were very good also but that potato salad was extraordinary.

A smaller place but nearly fully packed at about 11:30am so it's a popular place.  Located on 60 Moo 10, Soi Khao Talo, Pattaya (Darkside).  I'll gladly return for more great food.

Good food but too hot for day time and not enough fans.

I was a regular in Akvavit for some time. Then, suddenly, about 3 months ago the quality of the food plummeted (I went ala carte). I suspect the cook changed to a Thai with no experience in cooking Farang food. I hope it's temporary, but haven't returned after the last disappointment.  The buffet is probably still good, hard to spoil it.

It's low season and very hot , often the farang owner returns back to his home country . Could explain it in this case.

Hi, Any one know of a place in Pattaya that does Georgian food..Looking for Khachapuri and Khinkali.

cheers folks

Yes.

This place in Jomtien (see map) which is now called Asia Restaurant has general Central Asian food but definitely has Khachupuri on the menu but I don't think they have Khinkali.

https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g293919-d9835765-Reviews-Mimino_Caucasian_Restaurant-Pattaya_Chonburi_Province.html

Not specfically a Georgian place though.

Sadly the time I went they were out of cheese and couldn't do the Khachupuri. What I did order there was pretty mediocre.

Yes, I understand Georgian food can be very wonderful but just commenting on my impression of the level of that restaurant.

There used to be a place in North Pattaya off 2nd road that had an extensive Georgian menu but I think it's been closed a long time now.

If I'm wrong, please someone else post about it. Would also love to find more options for Georgian food.

You might also like place which doesn't have Georgian food or your requested dishes but general Central Asian and some similar dishes.

If you go to the Jomtien place and they can't make it that day I suggest you walk a bit towards beach road and eat at Ukraine restaurant. Obviously nothing Georgian there but a really good Russian/Ukraine restaurant.

I found this cheap Russian/Georgian restaurant when I passed soi watboon , jomtien . 300 meter from Beach rd.

The prices in the menu were incredible cheap. 20 baht for a pancake, dumplings 60 baht and Borscht soup 60 baht. I just wanted a quick soup so I tried the Borscht. Not the best I have tasted and no real sour cream, but it was passable. The pancakes on display looked good but I didnt try them.

The name of the restaurant is only in Russian . They had some Georgian dishes mentioned in the menu.

Not sure if I will return.

Thanks for that. I like your post because it may remind people that this thread is about sharing information, and not only RECOMMENDATIONS of where to eat.

So to clarify, the place is actually on Soi Watboon? It was unclear from your post.
