Not to my knowledge.

Certainly no pâté anymore.

Taken over by an Australian and a German, I believe.

They kept the staff.

A good sausage is something I have never found in Thailand.

I guess it is all about where a fellow comes from, am sure that the like of Germans will have found some that are similar to their home land.

A few days ago, went to Nadia's, on Soi Bonkot, beside El Greco Greek place.

They open at 8am, open air place, background music, TV on without sound, nice.

I had a fry up, 149B, and have to say, one of the best I have had in and around Pattaya, mainly due to the quality of the ingredients.

And missus was very complimentary of her Thai dish.

Lots of positives, only negative was staff, while pleasant and efficient, just loudmouthed, both having conversation while at opposite ends of the restaurant, this is such a common issue for me in Thailand.

Will return for sure.

That certainly looks good and at a very good price. Only thing missing is a piece of black pud. Then it would be perfect!

Yes indeed, cant remember if black pudding was available as extra or with a different breakfast.

The best black pudding I have had in Pattaya is at Bake and Brew.

Odessa Ukrainian restaurant in Jomtien previously very positively reviewed here is back on a delivery app. Hungry Now.

Have visited numerous times and also on apps.

If you get the borscht be sure to order the garlic donuts to accompany.

Oh, I forgot to mention that Odessa Restaurant also not surprisingly has a number of Russian dishes. OK, Ukrainian and Russian food is very similar of course. But the big "news" is that they are now doing at least one famous Georgian dish, Adjaruli Khachapurim, which is available by Hungry Now app as well.

I haven't tried their version yet myself but I did see a rave about it elsewhere.

Right you are but I was referring to the classic Ukrainian beet version to have with the garlic and donuts.

OK the "donuts" are probably not what you're thinking of.

They're basically dinner rolls served with garlic oil to dip them in.

Had a squint at their FB feed and their food looks very appealing to my taste; i.e. not spicy. I am in Jomtien next week and will give it a try. It will be a first for me.

We tried Odessa about 5 weeks ago, on the recommendation of a foodie friend, have to say, not impressed.

I know it was during lockdown, they had no chicken, which he did recommend, missus asked for seabass I think, no have, they did have a salmon steak, came way undercooked, part raw.

I had lamb chops which were OK. But, maybe my fault, came with no veg or potatoes. I should maybe have asked what does it come with? But you would expect to be prompted by waitress also.

There was a cat roaming around, we were only 2 customers there and bill, for what we got, was expensive, a few plus plus.

Just got the impression they only wanted to cater for the Ivan.

They did give a complimentary shot of something like vodka and a raw pork appetizer.

Honestly I think you didn't order the right things. Many good restaurants are not so good if you fail to order what they excel at. Like you can't go wrong with items like dumplings pelmeni, potato pancakes, etc.  I've always been welcome there. The pork thing is traditional Ukrainian. I don't eat that. I don't think its raw though. It is basically fat. But I hear you. Sounds like you won't be going back. Up to you.

BTW I just had delivery from Odessa.

The borscht as good as ever.

Tried the Georgian cheese bread pie thing.

I've never been to that Georgia so I can't say how authentic it was but I can say it's way too big for one person. The cheese was kind of like a rustic soft farmers cheese. I couldn't even locate the egg. I wonder if they make that cheese themselves as I've never tasted that before. A very large portion of cheese. It's possible that it just melded into the cheese. I enjoyed trying it but it's not a repeat order for me. Did I mention it had cheese?

I've had a similar dish elsewhere without the soft type of cheese and definitely had the egg.

Farang Food

(Don't shoot the messenger. That's how they're named on Food Panda!)

Location -- Food Panda app or 43/8 Moo 11 Sukhumwit road, Nongprue Banglamung.

Actually I don't even know if it's an actual restaurant. Some places are just kitchens for deliveries.

Now for something a little bit different. Russian and some Ukraine and "Georgian" food that gave me the impression of eating food from Soviet era USSR (as I imagine, I wasn't there).

Low prices. Hearty "people's" food. Portions. There are portions. About as far from gourmet as you can imagine and yet somehow satisfying.

I tried three things:

Chicken Pilaf 70 baht

Obviously a rice dish. The rice was nicely colored. It might have been whole grain. The chicken pieces were small, some bone, gristle, and fat, Comrade. The flavor was minimal.

Stew Eggplant with vegetables 60 baht

As described in a too sweet for me tomato sauce.

The highlight!

3 Georgian Big Dumplings 100 baht

Khinkali

I've had this before and the dumplings are always pleated with soup broth inside. Yep, similar to Chinese xiaolongbao but bigger.

These were what I imagine is a Soviet (ha ha) variation. Very big balls of unpleated very chewy thick dough balls surrounding fatty ground pork with some herbs IN soup broth! What can I say, I really loved the chewy thick dough!

The dumplings and soup arrived hot but I probably should have nuked the lukewarm pilaf.

Overall I consider this another real find.

The menu is rather extensive.

Some other items for examples but there is much more.

Vegetable zucchinni puree 60

Pickles 30

Ukrainian borscht 90

Chicken Kiev w/ mash 120

Russian Navy Macaroni (has meat) 60

Salmon Cutlet 35 per piece

Georgian Chicken leg 120

Meat Pie 40 per piece

Stuffed cabbage leaves 30 per piece
