CaptainS Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Thanks for the comment Virt... .. (and Absolut too in his post ^ ) I some times wonder if I post a tad too many!!!! ? .....I'll use the photo section more... unless appropriate.... Yours are great too!... ... I cannot figure out where they are though....?... other than the airport ... No pics today.... but at least things are calming down .... Maenam beach almost calm late this afternoon ..... and there was sun today... Hope it lasts a while this time! It's still a little chilly for us acclimatized folks! Hope weather gets better when we arrive in march Staying 5 days at Maenam and 11 days at Chaweng at our usual hotel and then 5 days in Bangkok is situation has settled down a bit, but our first time in Maenam, so will be fun to see a new place. Sure, it will be hot as usually by then. Nothing to worry. 1
saweden Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 Glorious sunny morning. Indeed! And I put away my Swedish winter jacket again this very fine evening. Sent from my iPad using ThaiVisa app
AngThong Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 Oddly, I find myself hoping the cool weather will last a few weeks longer... Sweating with casts isn't fun, it's irritatingly itchy. My arm cast will come off in a week but my leg cast has another 3 weeks to go... 1

I timed it well though, all the wounds have healed while it's been cool. Don't want to think what it would have been like if it had happened in sweltering March... 2

Any wound is hard to heal at that time.
samuijimmy Posted January 26, 2014 Author Posted January 26, 2014 Yep a great day... seas around Maenam at least calm, and lots of happy campers on the beach! But still as Saweden says, it's jacket for evening, especially riding a bike! It better be as nice on KP tomorrow ... I'm over for a day or two visit! ..... watch out you guys over there !

Do drop by, if you have the time :-) You'll probably pass by anyway, heading North from Thong Sala.
Popular Post samuijimmy Posted January 28, 2014 Author Popular Post Posted January 28, 2014 Nice calm seas now... and the sun is shinning with a few clouds ! ..... western side of Koh Phangan, yesterday! Same same Samui! at least the north end! 3
Rooo Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Several off topic posts deleted. Can we please stay on subject as a weather topic. I have moved some posts to the Photos section. Thank you.

Should i bring my winterboots or sandals Sitting here in 0 degress and counting the days. It's quite pleasant, now..... coolish evenings, sunny days .... around 30 c.... (well a few cloudy periods......) I hate to say it but we do need a little bit of rain!!! .... well at least the gardens do! 2
CaptainS Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Probably not much rain for another 2 months
Neilly Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Probably not much rain for another 2 months Funny you should say that...the guy from the water pump/supply shop (just down from Big C) was here at the weekend to replace the innards of my water filter and he said end of April before we can expect any decent amount of rain
Tropicalevo Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Hot days, coolish nights and the wind seems to be turning. Coming from the south now and again lately. A rain shower now and again would be good.
Popular Post AngThong Posted February 12, 2014 Popular Post Posted February 12, 2014 Very nice weather indeed. Took finally off the bloody (not literally) leg cast, and although I still can't walk properly, what a relief it is with the increasingly nice and sunny days. I might even get adventurous and visit a beach! Take note, ye gods of weather - keep up the good work of the past few weeks! 3

Anyhow I think it was quite dry also in the last months, not much rain from December, hope not too many people will run out of water in the next months. Maybe there will be more to do for your pump guy.
Virt Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Sounds nice and counting the days. As long as the March 2011 torrential rain stays away i suppose i should be happy 2
Tropicalevo Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 You should be OK Virt. The March storms were the first in recent history on Samui. Mind you - the weather is doing funny stuff these days.
PoorSucker Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 As I put on shorts today, I hereby declare cold season over. 2
samuijimmy Posted March 3, 2014 Author Posted March 3, 2014 Pretty darn perfect weather now, for sure... nice sunny days and nights not too hot! 1
Popular Post saweden Posted March 3, 2014 Popular Post Posted March 3, 2014 Pretty darn perfect weather now, for sure... nice sunny days and nights not too hot! Nights are too cold! Froze my ass off today on our motorbike around 8 pm. As soon as you leave the ring road for the Chaweng hills it's freezing! Next time I'll take a jacket! Sent from my iPad using ThaiVisa app 3
samuijimmy Posted March 13, 2014 Author Posted March 13, 2014 Read a couple of weather reports for the week-end ... possibility of some rain ... which would be nice.... Some people are running out of water! Feels like each day now getting a little bit warmer Phew! 1
samuijimmy Posted March 15, 2014 Author Posted March 15, 2014 We have light precipitation in Maenam, right now ......... my garden is jumping with joy! I think going to be one of those wait 5 minutes and it will clear up kind of days! (forecasts seem to say 40% chance of rain!, up and down during the next few days too.... )....
CaptainS Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Here in Bangrak it also rained around 8am already and again maybe 1 hour ago. Not really much yet, hope there will be more coming in the next days, would be great to get rid of the dust. 2
ArfurMaggot Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Just checked on here to see what the weather is doing around Bang Ban Makam today and found there have been no postings since 15th March. I decided to take a break from the Interweb to go get my smalls in. Imagine my frustration to find that they are wet because it has been raining! OP. If you are going to start a forum posting like this, at least be responsible enough to keep it updated, please! I am now having to sit around in wet Y-fronts, for Goodness Sake!
samuijimmy Posted April 5, 2014 Author Posted April 5, 2014 Oh the joy of some rain today... If Mr Maggot wants daily updates, here, the job is yours! I got soaked twice today, every thing.... so you're lucky you only had wet knickers.... Happiness of feeling rain drops, it has been too long! Pre Songkran test 1
Tropicalevo Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 I don't know - we have come to KP for a few day's break - and it's hacking it down with rain!!!
