Welcome Garlic maven from China!

I've always got some of that Chinese garlic in the house and in my stomach.

One time I found my stash of Chinese garlic was crawling with thousands of small ants.

Only in the closed garlic container. Not from the house.

Don't worry. I am not demanding a refund.

I had thought before ants don't like garlic.

Speaking of garlic and bugs, apparently raw garlic helps with internal parasites.

To use, chop up the garlic first and let sit for some minutes before eating. RAW. Yes, I said it. Raw.

The main difference is that I can eat Thai garlic raw (when I have a sore throat for instance) without having to gulp down milk to neutralise. I really want to get hold of some of those big juicy... to plant here.

In cooking, they are different taste with different ideal uses.

Thai garlic is very good in Thai stir fries, just mashed up, don't peel!

Chinese garlic, you need to peel.

Hi There, Iam sorry but the Chinese garlic I have tried is pathetic, very little taste. Also they are a lot bigger than Thai garlic, this doesnt reflect on the taste AT ALL.

Stick with Thai grown garlic.

I don't fully agree. The Chinese garlic is definitely not as strong tasting but to say it has no taste isn't really true. Yesterday I made a pesto using 5 large cloves of raw Chinese garlic minced in a garlic press and believe me the dish was quite garlicky.

Great will do that and my last question for you.

How safe are Chinese garlics in terms of pesticide or chemical that are used to help it grow

The garlic ,upon inspection by sampling ,have met the sanitary requirements and was fit for human consumption. Thanks

The garlic here in Thailand is not very spicy and the imported ones are just the same. If you have a very hot tasting Garlic I am very interested in getting some.
