Who Is The Best Tailor On The Island

Featured Replies

Another wedding to attend in the UK and need to find a good tailor on the island last suit I had made was on Koh Phangan some 6 years ago and now due to the good thai food will not fit !!!!! Any recommendations would be welcome.

The Amari Tailor opposite the Centara Hotel Bakery in the beach road in Chaweng.

Perhaps try the monkey farm....They should have Monkey suites there!!! biggrin.pngtongue.pngwhistling.gif

Well that will give the monkeys something to sit on.

You'll have to go to Haad Rin KPG for the best tailor in the region.

Just had several pairs of trousers made by the Armani tailor opposite Starfish and Coffee in Fisherman's Village. Pleased with the work.

Just for your information, the tailer shops you see around don`t make cloths. They are good to talk and they will tell you that they have their own staff making cloths etc. They all deliver your order to the same tailor work shops. Normaly you have one tailer work shop who makes pants, another make jackets etc, thats why they also can make suits with short delivery time. The tailer shops you visit only sell materials and make measurments. Then they send the materials and your measurments around to different tailor work shops for making your cloths. So the quality of the work is the same with all the tailors in the area. When you visit the so called tailor, you only have to look for the quality of their material and arguing the price for the suit. Often when you get a low price for a suit, they give you low quality material. The tailor work shops take fix prices for sawing pants, jackets etc. So when you arguing about the price, it`s the price for the material and profit to the tailor (seller) you arguing about, and not the quality of the job. So when you going around and looking for cloths, always think about the material they offer you, and always compare price on the same material. Dont let any thai person follow you to the tailor shop, like short time gf, taxi driver etc. Don`t bring buissnis card you get from hotel, restaurants, people in the street etc with a tailors name and address, thats mean profit to the people who gives you the card. They will then get commission, and thats money from you pocket. Make bargain and dont be shy to visit the next tailor, it`s a big competition.

What about just going to Moss Bros, when you arrive in UK ..... I'm assuming they are still around....? and just rent one......... you'll probably only use this suite once .... will save you dragging it back and forth! whistling.gif

You can bring me back chocolate instead! biggrin.pngtongue.png

Spot on. The only difference in quality is how good are they at measuring you up. The rest is arguing about their profit.

Sorry but her men's suits/shirts/whatever are made at (probably the same above mentioned) tailor work shops. She does make some of her ladie's gowns herself.

Many thanks for all the feed back I will take all your suggestions on board except for " The Monkey Farm " which samuijimmy suggested good job he is a mate of mine !!!!!!!!!

The lady in Nathon next to Will Wait restaurant.

Thanks for that suggestion. I like the idea that she makes the suits on site.

I'll be in Bophut for a week but would be willing to make a couple of trips to Nathon for a decent suit or three.

The only one one that I could sugest (although I won't) is one in Lamai, that offered me 30% commission for any any referals from my guests.

Yes, you read correctly 30%!
