Featured Replies

A Thai friend wants to buy a tablet for under 5,000 THB. There are so many brands to choose from. Anyone have a good recommendation?

Not sure if this helps smile.png

She is interested in the following as well....

back camara..
3G
phone calls

For 5000 baht you are probably not going to find a tablet with built-in 3G and 2G (phone calls) capability...that is, where it comes with a SIM slot. Most tablets in the 5000 baht and under ballpark are Wifi only.

Scope Hercules

available at Advice for 2990B

the specs say no 3G but in fact my friend is using it with an aircard (I could not use mine with aircard)

May be a good idea to look in Thai Classified/ bahtsold/ cragslist and check out for a better quality secondhand unit.

Better to have a second hand BMW than a new Trabant !!!

Whilst waiting for wifey to buy a series of special offers in 7/11 I noticed a poster for a 7" tablet you could order there from their catalogue.

From memory the specs seemed very good.

1.5 dual or possibly quad core.

1gb ram

16 g memory

Battery was very good too but can't remember the rating.

Price was 4600 I think and had to be ordered before end of April.

Tell her that's an absolute waste of money.

5k baht is a lot for something that's going to be a paperweight in a months time.

No it's not in the catalogue. Most 7/11's were advertising it on a poster usually beside the entrance.

Wifey wrote down the ref# 80291001 as she is interested herself. Maybe give that to a staff member and see if they can give you further details.

Friend has one so I've played with the 9" i-mobile tablet that's available everywhere... It has no 3g, wifi only. Not at all bad for a sub 5,000 baht device, in fact I'm considering getting one for myself - it's either going to be dirt cheap or something upmarket (quite fancy a TF700), I haven't decided yet...

I have the I mobile i-note, I like it got it for 4,800 baht. It uses the regular sim card but you can get an adapter if you use a micro sim. It has 3G and wifi

Sent from my i-mobile i-note 2 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app
