My visa expires tomorrow (1st of may), my visa isn't a visa and is just 15 days british visa excempt from Poipet border run. i was going to go to Laos tonight and get a non imm b visa tomorrow, however i just realized tomorrow is a holiday!

If I leave tomorrow night and enter Laos Thursday morning (2nd May) will I get 1 day over stay?

I also can't afford to get overstay as my passport is nearly completely full!

Yes, you will be charged 500 Baht for one day overstay and this will be noted in your passport.

Not sure why it's a problem or a panic. Go as planned, wait out the holiday it just means 2 nights in Laos instead of one, apply Thurs pick up Fri and head back...

At an airport you might get away with 1 day but not at a border, or so I've gathered from posts here.

Taday is 30 April and you said your current permission to stay expires 1 May. Leave Thailand 1 May, apply for your visa 2 May, pick up your visa and return to Thailand 3 May.
