The Last Word Thread Unceremoniously Shut Down

In an unprecedented move today Thaivisa.com moderators abruptly closed the Last Word thread. Bedlam readership immediately fell by 52%. All trips to Spain have been cancelled. Protests are expected.

"I think I've created a monster.. " was the regrettable explanation given by TV moderator chanchao. He did not, though, push the kill button himself, perhaps not having it in his heart to smother the life out of his ill-bred creation. Two more posts were allowed, one of them a feeble attempt by Daleyboy to give him the Last Word while offering further alcholic bribes, before notable mod hatchetman Jai Dee hammered the button home with gleeful finality.

"It's unthinkable that they would not give the Last Word to a woman," sobbed an unconsolable Glauka, vowing that TV mods have yet to hear the last word from her.

"Not only was the Last Word thread a fantastic way to run up my post count but I feel the moderators have unjustly deprived me of contributing in a worthwhile manner to the Bedlam forum," a shocked and dejected KerryD stated. "I've invested too much wasted time to have my wasted time wasted."

Patsycat, one of the more recently institutionalized members, while making a late entrance was picking up a good head of steam in her vie to challenge the top contenders.

Tippaporn had the sole vote among Bedlam patients for Last Word honours, several concessions publicly made by Kan Win. "I firmly believe this inane thread was a hoax perpetrated by TV moderators upon an unsuspecting readership, perhaps to incite their insensibilities," charged Tippaporn in an official statement. He expects a coverup investigation to be launched.

The ghost of gburns has been reported to be hovering over TV headquarters. There have been no formal statements as yet from the netherworld over possible spiritual retributions.

This marks a sad day in TV Bedlam history and will be compared by future generations to the TITS thread closing. One can only now wonder about the direction of Bedlam's future. Closing of the Last Word thread has created high anxiety for political satirist and noted thread hijacker Boon Mee, who believes the action may be a precursor to barring him and his faithful domesticated pet. I think I represented about 23% of that readership all by myself

I whined and brought up the possibility of starting up a similar thread. I got absolutely no sympathy from the mods

I guess I should have come through on my alleged attempt to bribe a mod

How am I ever going to match the post counts of the great ones ?

Who will Glauka and Patsycat converse with ?

We will be forced to sink to the lowly depths of posting in the many political threads ? Or making worthwhile contributions to other threads ?

By the time you've managed to post enough to reach Bedlam, you should have out-grown childish stuff... that's why there's a 500-post entry fee...

I don't really want to be tarred with the "Sanitizer" brush, but Bedlam is supposed to be the place where long-term members can express serious views on serious subjects... with only "light moderation"... and you're all expected to behave like the adults you are...

We're all pretending to be adults, until we reach the 500 mark.

The ghosts who posts are currently making their way up the Malacca Straits on their way to Thailand ...there they will hover over the area known as Nongprue...looking for anyone with a good heart to torment for the rest of their lives....sooner or later they will find the severely old minded Jai Dee who believes that kindergartens were designed solely for the under 6yo's....and then they will show him the error of his ways....much the same as the ghosts in the Christmas Carol....you know the one with Ebenezer Scrooge in it.

BTW....Glauka and Kerryd have both been exhibiting signs of withdrawal....Glauka has shed her PJ's and is wandering aimlessly around mumbling..."I could have done this ...###### those Mods" and Kerryd is wandering around looking for the PJ's...saying "all those pics gone to waste...oh why me Lord"

I must say that this morning i was very dissapointing when i saw that last word thread was shot down.

We have too many serious thread in bedlam. Last word has showed me the humorous, and childish side of some members. This thread has make me to come closer to members like kerryd, tippaporn, lamphum, gburns57au, raro and many more.

Discussion about Politics and some other serious matters show only one side of members. However a humorous thread about nothing can let you interact and enjoy with some member who you don´t share same ideologies, But who you share the feeling of having a good time, because everybody wants to have some fun.

IMHO there is a place and times to behave like an adult and time and places to behave like a child and being silly...that´s what last word was about it.

People who didn´t want to participate in last word just ignored the thread, so we did not harm anyone. People posting in last word were respectful and funny at the same time. So if people want to show their silly side what´s wrong with that?

I know i can be very silly sometimes but i don´t care...i know who i am ( most of the time) so i am not ashemed of being silly. I think i have shown in many other post that i can also deal with serious matters.

There are many aspects in my life which are to be taken seriously that´s why i like to be silly sometimes.

Last word has been a very popular thread, people has enjoyed posting there everyday so why it needs to be shot down? I do understand that many members find it pointless and stupid...but again if you don´t like it just ignore it...

It takes us that many to let our hair down enough to be able to be silly.
