Anybody have any idea of the costs of an allergy test in relation to Chronic Rhinitis?

It is one of the steps they must take which will eventually lead to surgery because of enlarged adenoids and tonsils etc.. for my 2yr 8mth son..

The reason I am asking is because I have no idea if it will cost 500 baht or 30'000 baht (some googling suggest costs can be as much as $1000), if it is expensive I will want BUPA to pre-authorize and direct bill as he is fully insured, but if it only costs 500 baht I would seem rather silly :-)

I understand there are two types, one is a skin reaction test and the other is a blood test, they may prefer the more expensive blood option because the skin test may be distressful to the boy.

The hospital I will use is Bangkok Hospital Rachasima.

Yes, I know I should ask the hospital!! but it's up to the alergy doctor on the day what tests he does.

It is certainly not going to be 500 Baht. In the thousands if not the tens of thousands, depending on how many tests have to be done.

There was a lot of fuss with the international department having to get involved with document signing, passport copies membership cards, delays and fuss at the cashier..

And it only came to 1450 baht!!

Not sure but they drew about 8 lines on his arm with a dab either side, so I would guess 8 or 16.. (I think 8 as one side was a control reaction or something)
