Famous Actress?????

Never heard of her, what are her credits?

Nice body, little brains. If that are not good enough credits for a Thai "star" nothing is.

"On her Instagram page, Aom cited that she and other actors wanted to apologise. The event was part of the acting and she was very sorry she may have been over acting."

Come on really... Over acting.... in the Thai TV industry.... Never seen that before!coffee1.gif

Can someone direct me to a post on TV , where there is actually no negative or whinging comments ?

That's a bit of a tall order...you must be new here.wink.png

Try watching TV programs from many different countries and you will see a big difference in the style of acting - Britain, US, Aussie, Germany, France, Sweden - all have their nuances. In Asia - China, Korea, Japan all different. India completely different.

They reflect the culture, tastes and expectations of their audiences. One is not better or worse than the other, just different. Your judgement will be based on your world views and expectations of acting.

She was the lead playing against the "Tom" in the lesbian romance comedy "Yes or No".

She's also had minor roles in other movies.

Guess t was an in house local movie then, not international which would lead to making her famous

This is a Thailand web forum so therefore she is famous, unless you take no interest in local happenings and hang out in tourist places.

I saw a few Skittle ads on Youtube yesterday that were people being rude. They were posted as "funny" but they were just rude, memorable but rude. Perhaps the advertising agency had the same idea. Not surprised that rude didn't work here in Thailand.

Isn't your post in itself a whinge?

BTW, for 'is' read 'are'. There, another whinge for you to add to your collection. biggrin.png

Appears to me that she is simply a typical young Thai female , absorbed in her own vanity, conceit and self importance who could name all the mega malls in Bangkok along with 1,000 brand names for for beauty enhancing cosmetics but could not name the capital of South Korea.

The brand's ongoing marketing campaign in Thailand features visibly agitated Thai celebrities throughing tantrums only to be placated by a chocolatey panacea. Famously short tempered actor Somchai "Tao" Khemklad participated in several similar ads last year.

Two things

A) Have the Snickers people confirmed this?

...and or

Sorry, I not sure I understand the question.

Obviously tourists will not have heard of her or the guy who has lived here 3 months.

They'll not have heard of Chalerm or Dr. Pornthip or know what DSI means etc that 'Thailand News' talks about.

I saw this news on the national television, so yes , of course she is famous.

how old is she? she looks like a teenager in the Mall but glad she apologized.

Yes, she was acting well,

but in Thailand the only time you can appear angry is when blind dunk,

otherwise is it culturally a faux pas. So to be drunk enough to berate fans,

would first be seen as extra rude, and then out of control.

In the west where Snickers is from and marketing is controlled,

they likely might not realize this, and so screwed her without knowing it.

...and no one could have ever told them, like...and agent or a manager or the guy who runs these products in Thailand?

So...blame the farang...again?

Bit of a cheap- shot, don't you think?

FUI the movie Yes or No and Yes or No 2 was a box office success both in Thailand and all over Asia...

It's you who's out of touch man...

FUI on that.

Up on Crippled Creek....she don't have to speak and he defends her....a drunkhards dream if you ever did see one.

You're right, he's whinging about whinging, which is a first.

from what I can see of my wife watching Thai soapies, these actresses have "angry" completely mastered, however subtle emotions...don't exist?

So...everybody (including the "fans") was surprised, that she could actually act believable?!

It seems to be the only female role in Thai soaps, being angry and acting like a spoiled little bitcx.

But frankly scarlet, I don't give a damn.

Snickers have been running similar ads in the UK using Joan Collins.

All over Aisa? You must be dreaming!

Clearly if you do not have any knowledge of her then she probably does not exist.coffee1.gif

Well I guess I am, maybe it is the thought of watching a 90 minute long Thai soap that stops me flocking to the cinema to watch Thai shows.

cheesy.gif That is about the weakest bit of backpedalling that I have ever seen.tongue.png

You seem to forget that to Thais, the centre of the world is Thailand...! International fame counts for nothing.
