Had some electrical work done outside and the (*&^%%$$$#$ cut into the mains line to attach a power cable- so ZERO circuit breaker protection for the appliance and a lethal trap for anyone working on it. All to save about 100 baht worth of wire!

Then, to add insult to injury, while he was up in the ceiling, I asked him to run a piece of string along with the wire, so I could pull a tv cable later without having to hook bits of wire through the hole. So there were 2 holes in the ceiling with pieces of string hanging out. However, I was gobsmacked later when I went into the roof space to pull the cable and found there were only ends of string hanging out and nothing in the middle!!!!!!!!!!!

The other thing I caught the clod doing, was joining a black wire to a grey wire and visa versa.

Pretty unbelievable.

Can you imagine what the worker is telling his friends tonight? I bet it starts with "So today this crazy farang asks......"

You need to remember where you are - expectations should be very low for any work

Expectations of the foreman are often not met, but the client should be able to maintain theirs. However in this case it appears the client was the foreman, and he had a bricklayer doing to job of an electrician - C'est La Vie..
