Remember I'm a rank amateur.......

I went out today to get some photos at the Siam Tulip Festival and gave up as the conditions were so overcast. Any tips?

I would have thought overcast conditions would have been much better than having bright sun light, especially when taking pics of flowers...wink.png

It would he great to see some pics of the Tulip festival thumbsup.gif ... finding it strange it would be in August???blink.png

try taking bracketed shots and combining them as hdr.

overcast shots can provide great lighting, however only if you can manage to avoid the sky in the photos as it generally just turns into one big blown highlight.

I generally stop my exposure down 1, and brighten the image later if necessary

I was away for a few days to a cave monastery, ( photos to follow ) and the conditions were ridiculous!! I tried my best though

I'll go back to the flower festival this week and see what I can do smile.png

DAL had to google overcast conditions first..smile.png

A nice background clear sky will add to the romance of the picture of a tulip, surely.. I focused on the flowers when it was cloudy instead of the sky.
