It must be pleasing to many people to see how level headed and sensible the red leadership is now. Calling off their protests to avoid any further violence from the Yellow Shirt/PAD/Democrat thugs under their anti-government unbrella.

Must really hurt the Yellow supporters that the reds did this - they must be seething that once again as in 2006 ande 2008 the real violent perpetrators are being exposed again.

2010 gave these violent people some moral high ground to stand on - but now everyone can see the Yellows for what they are and remember their violence in 2006 and 2008 - the anti-government mobs are just violent thugs, paid for thugs of those who despise Democracy.

They came ... they saw ... they got shot .... the threw up the white flag and went home.

I was not aware the the PTP has so traits in common with the French 555

Got it from their leader, you know the one - he ran away like a cur and now runs up and down behind a fence snaring and snapping safely away from all those nasty people.

And don't give him too many idea's, next he will be modelling himself either on Napoleon or De Gaulle.

Strange, the Red Shirts loosing their taste for violence, something they

always seem to be really good at.not getting paid enough?

regards Worgeordie

They didn't have to contend with a faction of society against them last time, so they could run rampant against the system with the full backing of their leader in exile.

This time, it is clear that the people are against them, in much larger numbers than they can amass, such that a yellow streak has now appeared on the back of Jatuporn's red shirt.

They can now all go back north with their tails between their legs, and the government can pack their bags and leave.

This is the beginning of the end of the Thaksin regime.

I guess you are new to these parts, obviously you forgot about Red Shirt violence in 2009, convenient that. As for 2006, don't recall any violence then, and 2008 was not exactly that bad.

The only ones getting exposed now are The Red Shirts and PTP.

At least one side is showing some maturity and common sense and wants an end to the violence. Now if only the yellow shirts would grow up and follow the lead and put an end to this Kaos.

FINE, all go home and then what ????? that's why it is at this stage because of a dictatorial government, Thai people don't want really to disrupt work and families UNLESS it is really needed, and they feel it is.

If that interfering busy body in Dubai would get on with his RUNNING, keep his nose out and stop S##t stirring and whipping up people like JUT and company, stop asking Udon Governor to get 20 buses and send them full to BKK, YS to do as she says and rid Thai of corruption maybe Thai people can start to settle and look forward to improving their lives, which they can if the corruption money was distributed to departments to spend correctly for THE PEOPLE.

Then what??? Maybe no one else dies and the whole situation doesn't explode. Put your feet up, watch a few thai soaps and wait for the election then cast your vote. Fairly civil thing to do.

Call from Surat Thani - many people being offered 1000 baht per day to go to Bangkok to support Sutheps Yellow Shirt/PAD/Democrat violent thugs attempts at overthrowing a democratlcally elected government.

They are getting really desperate now for reinforcements from the South.

Got a call from Dubai this morning - "tell Magenta2013 what a great job he is doing- cheques in the mail"

Too funny ... last night he said 750

I guess when gun shots go off and people die ... the value on life goes up a little

The students declared they were coming

The red shirts knew they were coming and made threats

Where were the police? They must have known

Where were the police 2 hours after the rector called them?

Why are there still bands of red shirts shooting at the students?

Where were the guns? In the stadium for sure

Thank God, some lives will be saved. A surprisingly logical decision in a country plagued with illogical thoughts (and deeds). I hope the tone of violence will subside enough to save the lives of the remaining pawns.

The middle way is best.............

Do you have a link to this or some sort of proof this is what the call was about, or just plain rumor mongering?

Thai PBS just reporting they are resisting Suthep

Who wants to take control of news flow

Violent anti-government Yellow/PAD/Democrats have now seized Thai PBS and forcing them to only report what the violent thugs want.

What a disgrace - they say they respect the media - then beat up a jounalist and now seize the media channels.

You are disgusting Suthep and co.

The red shirts are government supporters. if the government agreed with them that they should go home now, as I suspect has happened, then it can only mean one thing. That thing is simple, that the government sees that the anti-government protestors need to be fought and removed by force. So, once the red shirts are safely out of the way and once the protestors have been asked to go peacefully and refused, the army and police will move in and use force. My guess is the use of force will start next Saturday.

Thai TV soap opera -watch that S##T rather have a sirloin steak any day.

I am all for the idea people can go home live in peace, comfort. HOW CAN ANYONE do that under this regime, The peoples money of Thailand is disappearing, due to corruption. But you will not see that EVER. I do not want to see any other colour shirt but the most important person in this land. be it pink or blue.

Good to see the BBC reporting things correctly.

Wonder if Sutheps Yellow/PAD/Democrat violent thugs will soon start hunting down BBC reporters to attack them.

.

.

Scumbag violent thugs (aka Yellow Shirts / PAD / Democrat Party supporters) have taken over Thai PBS. They will be spewing out lots of lies now to try to provoke more violence no doubt. They have a total disrespect for Democracy, Free Media and the TRUTH.

Blue sky joke?

Yet again you are wrong. Not a fake as you say, but real and has been supposedly "cancelled", although realists among us will not be surprised in the slightest if the puppet leaves the country today now that the end is nigh.

RT@ChadapornLin: Foreign Min official said PM's chartered flight to Johannesburg for today was a prior trip that has already been canceled

Blue sky joke?

They are now waging a media war these violent anti-government thugs.

Expect lies lies and more lies to be spewed by them as they try to hide their violence and dsigusting behaviour.

Thai PBS was the only "neutral" TV station out there - its why they went their first to take it over and stop them reporting all the bad stuff they are doing - Suthep you are a disgusting person - and where is Abhisit - in South Africa hiding ? Why is he not condemning the violence and attempted coup.

You keep saying the same thing over and over again.

I don't agree with you, but that's ok, but please stop using the word 'thugs' in every sentence.

or the cowardly red thugs realise they are not going to be able this time to kill and loot and burn without some risk to themselves this time. They are ones who escalated this by provoking others and using their normal vile threats. Some of them wanted to have a go and decided to attack or at very least provoke those students wanting and hoping for a violent reaction. When they started getting a taste of their own medicine they decided better tail between legs run.

Their is no common sense or maturity from this bunch of thugs.

They certainly got the order from their Taksin to stop since he could see his plan was not working.

Now its up to him and his puppet government and he can either instruct his sister to dissolve parliament and call immediate elections or try and site it out. E knows if he calls elections even if he wins their is no way they can again get the amnesty bill through.

This is all due to his puppets and cronies pushing through an amnesty bill for him. The Dems clearly accepted a bill which did not give Taksin or Abahist or Suthep amnesty but that was not good enough since this government has one and one aim only.

This will all be solved by one man simply once and for all stopping his quest to become total dictator of Thailand and make it his own 1 party state. Without Taksin all is solved and Thailand may be able to start becoming a real democracy.

Thida said, "let people return home." ???? Which means they are "free" to remain, if they want? I'll believe they're leaving when we see firm evidence for it.

I suspect after the murder and use of firearms from the reds that many decided they wanted nothing to do with it and left of their own accord, I think this is more likely closer to the truth than the red leaders would have us believe.

Looks like Thaksin has once again lost interest in the Red Shirt Fortress and cut the funding similar to 2010 when he flew to Paris for a lavish shopping spree on the Champs Elysées just as the Army was storming the ramparts - despite his claims he would stand with his "red brethren" on the barricades and die with them.

At least one side behaves wisely.

;)

Let Suthep and his thugs continue to behave like mad dogs on the lose.

If they don't find anyone to fight with they probably will start to fight between themselves (like his "students" always used to do)

There are pictures of an empty stadium.

Jatuporn has made his point that the red shrts are a threat but they are also a liability to the government. A horde of violent thugs sponsored by the ruling party on the rampage, causing murder and mayhem in Bangkok is not the image they want to present to CNN and the BBC.

So no more per diems after yesterday and the buses arrived to pick them up. How many of them would want to stay at their own expense and pay their own bus fares home?
