BANGKOK: --Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra insisted today that she would not step down and would not dissolve the House of Representatives .

She said the government was ready to host a public forum to resolve the political stalemate with the participation of all sides, including protest leader Suthep Thuagsuban.

Latest reaction of the prime minister was revealed today by the director of the Center for the Administration of Peace and Order (CAPO) Surapong Tovichakchaikul to reporters today.

Surapong, who is also foreign minister, said his latest meeting with the prime minister has come out with decision that the prime minister would neither resign nor dissolve the House of Representatives.

He said the prime minister would like the public forum to resolve the current differences by welcoming participation from academics and the protest leader Suthep Thuagsuban.

She believed that this was the best way to resolve the current political crisis and bring peace and order back to the country.

Surapong said that the protest leader also should not set any conditions to enter the forum or talk with the government as they would not be accepted.

Earlier the CAPO chief has said that Suthep must turn himself in to face treason charge as now warrant of arrest has been issued on him.

Meanwhile National Police Office deputy commissioner Pol Gen Worapong Chiewpreecha said that the police must arrest Suthep once they had chance.

But he said that the arrest must be done cautiously as he is surrounded by demonstrators

Earlier Suthep also made clear that he was ready to turn himself in to face the charge as soon as his mission to eliminate the Thaksin regime has been accomplished.

A fair offer. However I suspect thhe allure of strutting a stage in front of an adoring crowd, clad in a black shirt, will trunp any desire to contribute to political reform in the Kingdom.

So she's flip flopping as usual.

First she's willing to resign and dissolve parliament and now she won't. Yeah we've come to expect this kind of dishonesty from her family and her brother's government.

How can that be?

Burberry don't do flip flops.

Not a good move. She had been scoring points internationally by appearing to be the reasonable one vs Suthep's diatribe. She is losing those fast now. This won't end well.

I would assume her newfound assertiveness is the result of an agreement with military leaders, but I've been wrong before.

We predicted it. Liar! Puppet!

Stay on so that she can run Thailand further into the ground, however entertaining the international community with her ineptitude and absolute failure at everything she and her administration touch.

Step back in the ring Suthep, and get this show pony and her kleptocracy out of here.

Makes a perfect pair with the other liar Suthep. They can go both to Dubai and have a party with Mr. T.

Clinging on to power. This is Taksin calling the shots. Should the government go it will come out what corruption has been hidden by the government.

I don't care what you say, I love a woman in uniform and she isn't a bad sort either.licklips.gif

That's the only reason, aside from bribes, intimidation from the village head, an low education, that people voted for her in the farming zones. I heard a lot of shallow 'she's so lovely' comments, I recall, and wondered how that mattered anyway in terms of being a PM. I like 'em 100% Thai anyway, so you can have her, haha.

I thought my wife was Thai also until I met her Father who was Vietnamese. She was born to a Thai mother in Thailand. The amaysing thing was that she did not know her father was Vietnamese until I took her to meet him. She had not seen him for 20 yrs. You would be surprised how many Thai's think they are full blooded Thais, but in fact have a mixed blood as most in Asia are.

So she lied when the heat was turned up - said she was willing to dissolve parliament. So how can trust what she says??

I wonder if she's had a new Skype pep talk.

Good point. And going back generations, most of us are a mix of this and that. Cambodia/Lao/Burma occupation, hill tribes, Chinese..Malaysians....maybe many would have a surprise if they traced back further.

why should she resign or dissolve parliament just because a few hundred paid demonstrators have been parroting what her enemies tell them to? Saw a 'yellow' march today opp central world. The split between the real demonstrators and the non-genuine ones was glaring, about 10% middle class posh types and the rest you could not distinguish from the lower class riff raff that turn out to support the reds, 90% looked like unemployed rent a mob with whistles and of course flags. Probably half a dozen students as well.

Stop bluffing Yingluck and fold already, I need to make a trip to the embassy to pick up my daughters passport. This has gone on long enough.
