CHIANG MAI: -- Caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra today inspected the northern rail line from Chiang Mai to Lampang after it reopens to rail service early this month.

The prime minister was accompanied by Transport Minister Chadchat Sittipun aboard a train from Chiang Mai to Lampang.

The 263-km section of the northern rail line from Sila-art station to Chiang Mai station was closed for major maintenance and repair for over two months following frequent train derailments.

The latest derailment happened to the train which the State Railways of Thailand governor Prapat Chong-sanguan was on board to commence the rail service after the completion of the maintenance and repair work of the section.

Ms Yingluck was welcomed by red-shirt supporters while on the way to Lampang from Chiang Mai.

Late this afternoon, she will also participate in a public hearing forum of a rail project under the 2.2 trillion investment project of the government in Lampang.

She will remain in Chiang Mai until Sunday December 15, although a public forum hosted by the government will take place on Sunday in Bangkok’s Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.

gj, the caretaker Transport Minister, Chadchart, is in the bottom right corner of the photo in front of Mr Propeller. He's listening to the P.M. talking about the ties under the train.

What do you mean reminding them, more likely delivering a box car full of cash to make the

appropriate payments to the faithfully. Some farmers may be a little upset with the slow rice

pledge payments.

There'll be Khunying round the mountain when they come, well the bent buffers who will be railraoded.

Beware of sleeper cells, these maybe the managers of the Wheeltaxins and Shunters Loco motives union.

more pathetic by the day......they are trying desperatly to make it look like shes working...is this how the poor people travel to bangkok....coffee1.gif

"Oh yes, this is the 300km of the line, which isn't going to be dual-track/High-Speed, under my brother's former-government's plans !" rolleyes.gif

"When will the yummy new high-speed-train lunch-boxes be handed round ?" smile.png

"Why does the train appear to be not-moving ?" facepalm.gif

"It can run at night, you know, unlike my helicopter !" laugh.png

Inspection?
Do not forget the receipts!
How much money was spent on what?
Are the railwaymen get along with the budget?
Small inspection report would be nice in the sense of the taxpayers.
Thanks.

So the lass will not be attending the forum organised by the generals? Not very respectful for a lady that wants to be respected.

No doubt she will be represented by a partymember as always. Hope the generals will not be cross with her as they are with brother T.

And how pray is she going to do this inspection ? I would like photos please

This is the joke of the week. She "wouldn't know shyt from shinola" about inspecting a railroad.

Just an excuse to get her out of Bangkok coffee1.gif
