Camping Koh Kuddi

Featured Replies

Has anyone camped on Koh Kuddi? How to get there, what to bring, any bugs? How's the snorkeling, walking and anything else of interest? Thanks

I presume you mean Koh Kood, aka, Koh Kut in the Koh Chang archipelago?

Went there about 10 years ago, very basic then, but I believe it has been developed quite a bit since, perhaps not as much as Koh Mak (next door). A quick Google search should give you some insight. Nice place to chill out.

I didn't camp there, we had a lovely (but very basic) beach hut, fantastic in the evenings. It may well have changed with development over the years though.

Plenty of areas to go walking / exploring.

I didn't do any snorkelling there in particular, but the whole archipelago is very clean (compared to many other island areas of Thailand), have snorkelled around the smaller islands nearer Koh Chang which were good though. One thing I'll never forget was the ferry that meandered it's way through the islands from Koh Kood to Koh Chang, stopping off here and there, picking up folk, and dropping off food, veg, fruit, etc, the water was crystal clear, a sand bottom clearly visible in maybe 6-10m of water depth.

As for getting there, we had a private driver who took us to Trat, turned left towards the Cambodian border (Hat Lek?), and we got a ferry over, travelled through the islands to Koh Chang, where we made our way back to Pattaya from.

As for bugs, just what you'd expect I suppose, millions of mosquitoes!!! Just use plenty of repellent.
