Oh you can smell the desperation in the air! You foresee your own downfall and now you need the world's help now don't you?

Hete's some advice. Every country has their own problems so no one cares. Especially since your own government isn't exactly clean is it?

Can't stand that tosser.

Nothing serious and of any substance, ever, comes out of his mouth.

I got a great idea! Let's suggest that the PM runs in a direct election not dissimilar to something along the lines of an appointed PM. What I mean is that the candidate is not bound by the political persuasions of any particular party and neither is obligated to them. They are therefore seemingly neutral and elected by a "Direct Democracy". They would be in effect their own party but obligated to none, which would balance the MPs and Senators that are elected. I'm sure that the wording in the law could easily be done.

World tells Surapong to get a better understanding of 'Democracy', which doesn't include a total mandate to push through whichsoever legislation benefts your party only and ignore all and any legislative rulings meant to keep checks and balances, which don't. In short, World tells Surapong to grow the **** up and stop spitting his dummy out. Moron.

...unlike his colleague's, the labour minister's ears.

Every time I see that man's picture, the same question comes to mind:

First he says he is not inviting other countries to interfere in Thailand's internal issues, the next he is calling on them to help them seek justice.... So what are you asking for then you idiot???

He wants to be careful calling out to the world, they will only start studying the facts and unfortunately will probably end up calling for the Thaksin regime to be ousted once and for all.... That is what will happen when people have the facts, they won't just look at your side of the argument.

Be careful what you wish for you stupid old git.

He forgot to add, including the undemocratic actions on the part of the PTP during their 2 + year reign of corruption and ineptitude.

Can't stand that tosser.

Nothing serious and of any substance, ever, comes out of his mouth.

He says that same about you!!!

Maybe he should have balls to explain the world why this all his happening!

That's not quite true is it, Khun Surapong.

Twenty million Thais were not denied their chance to vote. Twenty million Thais did not vote but only a small proportion of those were actually denied the opportunity and most of those where in the Democrat controlled south. In the areas where the government is popular the turnout was as high as usual.

If he was being honest he would have said that 35 per cent of the country voted for the government, down from 47 per cent last time. It is estimate that no more than 10 per cent were stopped from voting first time around and the majority of those would have voted against the government anyway.

The shame of it all is that whilst Suthep has shone a light on the incompetence and impropriety of the government the chance of a possible election victory was lost. The indications are the big two would have run neck and neck.

Further evidence of the PTP mentality......don't try to think of ways to improve things....just try and convince the global audience that the PTP have been cheated......

Lard heads at their best.......Mr Ban is probably chuckling to himself, and now understands better why he rejected the PTP offer to help!

Can't stand that tosser.

He would be eliglble to become a TV member!

There is one substance that comes out of his mouth,it starts s and ends with t.

Do you think he's related to Tricky Dicky then.

So, not-so-care-taking Dept.PM and MoFA just told the 'world' that Thailand is a failed democracy?

Surapong should tell the world why the people are on the streets , Amnesty Bill, for crooks and criminals, that includes arsonists and bail jumpers. Good piece by the way.

Earlier we had Thaksin's lawyer denying his involvement in violence past and present. A man of peace whistling.gif

Now we have Thaksin's cousin trying to spin that PTP are the party of democracy, law and order; and the legitimate government.

Seems like PTP are preparing ground so that everyone outside won't be surprised when all these bad courts, judges, independent agencies force this law abiding government of the people to unleash their own militia to counter this attempted coup against them.

He conveniently leaves out any comments about PTP's behavior, their lies. widespread corruption and illegal activities; the cheating in parliament and refusal to respect or obey the law. His own illegal issuing of a passport is a classic example - no shame and no intention of answering any questions.

Sadly, most foreign journalists also fail to present all the facts - read the cut and paste AFP reports still rambling about the poor adoring their hero Dr, Thaksin or the BBC's very pro government write ups. The PTP PR machine is very good, and well funded albeit with tax payers money.

He tries to paint a picture of a democratic law abiding innocent government, being forced out by anti democratic factions. This isn't being done to get sympathy. Sadly, I think its being done to stifle world reaction at the coup they themselves will launch, They are that desperate to keep in power and the leader that crazy enough.

As soon as Yingluck is indicted, found guilty and impeached they will kick off.

He says that same about you!!!

Do you admire him?

Wouldn't be surprised......same, same, no different.

You and your vote buying Thai pals do not know the meaning of the word democracy

I am actually embarrassed for Thailand every time this fellow opens his mouth. This country deserves better.

Every time Thaksin's cousin speaks we are privy to how Thaksin thinks. Thaksin clearly thinks these press conferences are a great idea. He clearly thinks that his cousin is a fantastic and credible spokesman. And he also clearly thinks that the unconscionable act of undermining the legitimacy and authority of the Constitutional Court is going to go over well internationally. If ever we needed evidence that Thaksin sees things in a very warped way, this is it. It shows he is so isolated in his own world and his own way of seeing things, that he is convinced that everyone else will see things just as he does. After all, he's had delirious success with red shirt radio - likely beyond his wildest dreams. By assuming that the world at large is as gullible shows that Thaksin holds very little respect for people's ability to reason and assimilate on their own. He is like a kindergarten teacher who is so convinced of his power to persuade the mind of a five year old, that he can simply transfer the same ideas, the same thoughts, and the same skills and get exactly the same results with those who are older, wiser, and more experienced. What Surapong is doing is unconscionable by any measure, both domestically and internationally. Going after the highest court in the land is a button which should never be pushed by any government official. Pheu Thai is pushing it, and there is no precedent for it. It's inexcusable and shameful. That is what the world sees when they see this press conference. And it's pure desperation.

Surapong is of course correct. Suthep and the ammart and their supporters are working as a well-coordinated team to undermine Thai democracy (a system that they do not believe in, of course) on several different fronts:

- The "Democrat" party undermines democracy by refusing to take part in the February elections.

- Suthep's insurrectionist PDRC undermines democracy by blocking Thais from voting in the elections, and by continuing its intimidatory occupations of the streets.

- The Constitutional Court undermines democracy by its astonishing decision to annul the February elections.

- The ammart strategists undermine democracy by their new definitions of democracy, whereby it no longer involves universal suffrage, and whereby a group of "wise ones" will, in future, be able to block "undesirables" from standing in the new-style "elections".

This planned destruction of Thai democracy by Suthep and his colleagues is evident for all to see, and indeed most of the international media do see and understand what is to be expected. The media are also reporting, correctly, that this campaign to pressure the country into accepting Suthep's quasi-feudal system is already causing huge economic damage to Thailand – damage which will likely increase in the weeks and months ahead.
