Need to renew 5 year driving license

Featured Replies

I don't drive cars, so, my license is just for a motorbike.

I only remember one of the questions as it sticks in my mind for it's stupidity.

In the motorcycle test:-

When finished parking your car, how far should the wheels be away from the curb?

a. 15 cm

b. 20 cm

c. 25 cm

Sure, keep it up. This has not changed in at least 10 years now.

No, if no WP you don't need copy of lease or landlord's ID or copy tambien baan but residence certificate or yellow housebook.

Guys

i also need to renew my 5 year license in august 2015.

i heard they were only issuing now 1 year.

but a friend of mine who lived here for about same period of time went to Phuket License department to renew. they said 1 year and he asked and argued for 5 years as he lives here all the time.

they eventually gave him a new 5 year license..

has anyone also been told 1 year or are others also getting 5 year renewals.

many thanks ..

5 years renewal are possible provided on extension of stay. If on tourist visa or visa exempt only 1 year.

Yes, correct, on any 1 year visa, does not have to be multiple entry.

Basically: on extension of stay or long term visa: long term DL, on short term stay: short term DL.

NOTE i did my 5 year renewal on March 17th

2 days after my previous 5 year license expired

next one expires March 15th 2021

Got 6 years!!

so wait till ur license expires an get the extra time for the same price :-)

2nd note

first time i have seen the video!!

got my 1st thai license in 1987
